Located in a beautiful historic building in Old Montreal, Porto Mar is an ideal spot for business meetings, casual encounters and special events. The menu offers a variety of traditional Portuguese dishes including fresh fish, seafood and a choice of gril
Beautiful restaurant housed in an historic building - gorgeous and impressive⦠We ordered the tapas plate that included sardines, shrimps, calamari and chorizo⦠it was excellent! You must dip your bread in this aromatic oil⦠oh so good! We both had fish - the salmon was a little disappointing - the cod was a lot better and their fries are fantastic! It would be a shame if you donât have their traditional pastel de Nata - warm and crispy - Superb! The service was attentive and friendly which made our evening memorable.Thank you so much for the great review! We are so happy you enjoyed our cuisine and service and the beautiful historic building we are in. We look forward to serving you again. Cheers!

We had been to Helenaâs once before, the menu back then was truly Portugese and service was amazing. This time from the moment we walked in....hostess did not seem to want to be there, until we left service was horrible. The food not at all like it was we asked for a side of grilled veggies and the server told us that as veggies come with our meal we really had enough food. Letâs see....a half of a baby orange carrot, half baby white carrot, and some green beans. Ridiculous!! Next time I think we will try Porto-Mar. The entire meal was a let down!!

Located in downtown Montreal, Restaurant Bis is the perfect place to see and be seen! We're known to host Hollywood stars during their stay in "The City of Saints". Our diverse and exciting meal options, including our "under 495 calorie" menu, and our wid
We tried the cheese plate with homemade tomato (!) and orange rind marmalade for dessert. The jam was very surprising and lovely paired with pur cheeses. Mike, our waiter was personable and gave us excellent service. We enjoyed our anniversary evening here.

Classic fish & seafood in an elegant and friendly environment.
This place was recommended to us by our concierge, and it was so good that we ate here twice during our stay in Montreal. It is always busy so reservations are needed, and in fact we could not get a table until 8.15 on our first visit. It was absolutely full so was a little noisy but had a really good atmosphere. The menu is varied with several excellent fish options, which is what attracted us. We had the salmon, cod, halibut and the Dover sole on our two visits and they were all absolutely spot on. The starters were equally good, especially the soupe de poisson and the tomato soup.On our first visit, the wait between finishing starters and the mains appearing was towards the long end of what you would consider reasonable, but to their credit, they did spot this and sent out some amuse-bouches to quell the restless diners! However on the second occasion, although the restaurant was equally full, the slight delay was entirely within a reasonable timeframe. The wine list is extensive with a few well chosen offerings by the glass, which are on the expensive side because they are not your usual entry-level wines, (eg. the by-the-glass whites started with a Sancerre and a Chablis, and an entry red is a rather good Burgundy). This was absolutely fine by us as we tend to avoid cheap entry level wines anyway.Service was exemplary on both evenings in every respect. It is clear that the servers are completely au fait with all of the menu items, and that they have a very good grasp of at least the main wines on the list. This was the best dining experience in Canada (so far) by some margin. It was absolutely excellent and we can wholeheartedly recommend Chez Delmo.

I'm not a fan of fish and chips because I don't care much for heavy greasy batter. Brit and chips was everything I would hope for from fried fish. The batter is light and crispy and flavourful. The first thing you will notice when you drop in is the quaint small dining counter type restaurant. The open kitchen is the focal point of this small shop. You will get your choice of fish, haddock, cod, hake and perhaps one more that I cannot remember :). The prices are very reasonable and you can get a 1/2 pint for $4 which is very good.If you are in the old Montreal/Convention center area this is a great lunch option.

After having an incredible meal at sister restaurant Garde-Manger, our expectations were high for Bremner and were we ever disappointed.Oysters - good but not worth 42$ for a dozen.Tuna sashimi - underwhelming and the portion size was sad. Steakhouse dinner for two - this was terrible. When youâre spending 80$ for a steak, you expect excellence. The steak was over cooked (they promise medium rare and it came medium well) and bland. The potatoes that came with the steak were nothing special and were just soaked in better. This was actually one of the worst steaks Iâve had in a restaurant ever. We sent it back and they took it off our bill.Pancakes - the dish that everyone talks about. Honestly it was just okay. Boring pancakes in a very sweet sauce making it impossible to not taste good. The service was also just okay but our server was friendly. We were shocked that this is the sister restaurant of the amazing Garde Manger. We wonât be back as there are so many better options not only in old Montreal but in the entire city.

We loved our meal at Garde Manger! Growing up watching Chuck Hughes in the restaurant and visiting in person did not disappoint at all! Special seafood platter and the staff was so accommodating! Sam behind the bar was super - and it was a great experience all around!

Enjoyed a business lunch this past week at Cru. Oysters are heavily featured. I opted for the salmon tartare that was very enjoyable. The restaurant is a little pricey but the food is high quality. Service was friendly but not over the top.
