Awful service, cold food, 1h40 between appetizers and entree, they don't have the desert ordered, no maki's all you can eat as promised... They actually ruined our New year's Eve, never ever Hanzo anymore...

The panoramic restaurant El Ventanal is located in the historic neighbourhood of San Juan, offering a spectacular view of the colonial centre of Quito, the Panecillo and the famous Avenue of the Volcanoes. The breath-taking view, accompanied by our refine
We had an excellent meal here. The canelazo, a popular Ecuadorean drink, was really good. We had a fish dinner and potato cheese soup with avocado, both of which were terrific. Even better is the view! This is a wonderful place to get a view of the old town, the new areas and the mountains. Highly recommended!

Located in a nice neighborhood. Modern but a bit kitsch decor. Staff was friendly and helpful.Food was mediocre. The Sushi were not really fresh and not tasty, the quality of the rice was bad, the ramen soup was also disappointing.Definitely not a place I can recommend for decent food. I am surprised so many good reviews exist.....maybe I am too picky....in any case I will never return.Dear client,We are sorry we did'n meet you expectations, as you say, we have lots of good reviews and our clients always come back. Thank you for your comment an we will take it on account.

A fish display as you enter...this is gonna be good. Total beachy decor with off whites and blues in the interior. Latin flavored jazz playing. Whole space gives a great vibe.Walking distance from the marriott where I was staying.Tuna-avocado tempura: huge portion for an appetizer.Cazuela: a thick seafood stew...it. Ugh, it might the best thing Iâve ever eaten!A totally casual restaurant with beachy- jazzy-hip vibe that gets 5 stars.

This is not a restaurant, it is a food kiosk, equivalent to food cart inside the Mercado central a covered area with many such food kiosks. It occupies the end unit. The Covina comes with yellow or their version of ceveche , a soupy dish with shrimp, interesting... The Covina is fried only, nice crunchy outside tender and moist inside, quite tasty and a good Value $6. very helpful servers, friendly and spent time to get me an off menu cervesa Grande for only $2.will be back. a

Everyone mentions how great Zazu is when in town. We had three courses. The bar is nice and drinks tasty but tonight we sat there for 45 minutes waiting for our 6:30 first seating reservation. We were told they open at 7 and also had a one off issue with staff which is fine but why book us 1/2 hour before dinner begins? Corn soup is great. Mushroom soup is tasty but not deserving its $14 tag. Pork taquitos were Great! Wife felt the Andean grains were ok but I felt it was a weak serving of corn. Grouper grilledperfect but lacked any wonderful seasoning and left unfinished. Filet mignon-one of my two pieces was perfect the other a bit chewy both MR and cooked nicely but lacked a good crust or tasty seasoning. We averaged out our experience and at $122 I'm going with Ok. I've had better steaks and fish and soups. Just two peoples opinions based on travel thru Europe and Peru.

In Maitane Restaurant passion, love and constancy is our shield; quality, taste and service is our strength; creativity and innovation is our greatest effort and achieving the satisfaction of our customers is our highest priority.
While in Quito we actually went to both Restaurant Maitane locations. The one in the Swisshotel was more upscale in the setting, but we really liked the original location on Avinda Pourtugal. It was a little tricky to find but was smaller and more intemate. We really enjoyed the paella ( one dish would easily do 3-4 people if you had any appetizers first). Also the tapas platter had a really nice selection of items. One of our group of 6 had the Spanish dessert which I don't remember the name, but was a bread soaked in milk that was fantastic .The chef/owner Christian was at both locations when we ate and he came to our table to check on our meal. The service was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend MaitaneHello Gordon, Thank you for your kind and wonderful review. It was a pleasure to have you in both restaurants and we are really glad you enjoyed our food. The dessert you mention is the Caramelized Torrijas. We hope you visit us again next time you visit Quito.

We enjoyed this place for dinner after reading so many positive reviews and were not disappointed. The menu is varied offering many choices for miso soup, differing sushi options including vegan options, and great beer! It was the first time that I had seen Sapporo on the menu!We both enjoyed our meals from beginning to end. The chef came to our table to check on us and make sure that we were enjoying our meal (we certainly were!). Chatting a bit with him was a pleasure and we appreciate that he took the time to say hello. My only recommendation would be to include pickled ginger as an option as it appeared that they serve freshly sliced ginger which did not have as much flavor.

Iâve been here twice since Iâve been in Quito for one week. My friends and I are obsessed with the mushroom steamed buns (canât remember their name, but they also can be made with meat). In addition to their food, they also have amazing chocolate chip cookies, and donât skip the guanabana y moro juice. Iâm going to miss it when I go back home.
