This was a lucky surprise for us. Even though this restaurant look very expensive, the quality vs price relation is awesome. They have a great variety of meats (duck, deer, wild pig, etc) with different sides (different type of risottos for example), drinks, and dessert (you must try the chocolate volcano with raspberry sauce dessert).

We were treated like famous guests. The team was willing to go over the menu completely as well as modify the selections if we desired. The food was outstanding with very fresh ingredients and the knowledge of our servers the same. They were friendly and very polite. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. I had doubts, ibis restaurant has a low rank on TA.A local recommended it to me as the best small scale restaurant.I had a Pisco sour as apéro. It was so full of sugar that once the ice melted it was undrinkable. I ordered pulpo ( octopus ) as a starter, it was black and chewing gum is very tasty and tender compared to this octopus.Main dish I ordered salmon with a butter / capers sauce and fresh vegetables. Well... it came all out of the freezer. Nothing was Fresh. Definitely. They recommended me a white chardonnay whine. Excellent; only at 4900 pesos ( 7.5 U$) a glass --> it is a rip off ! We are in Chile ! ( I don't like waiters who recommend the most expensive wine on the menu) Conclusion :1- don't really trust a local when they recommend a restaurant; at least be suspicious and double check. 2- avoid this place; at 60 U$ for a frozen food meal this is a bad deal / rip off. The food is simply not good/fresh/ well prepared. 3- I do not recommend ! The low TA ranking is totally justified !

Our guide took our group to this totally unexpected and, to be honest, unpromising venue (literally somebody's back garden) and we were totally blown away. Wonderful food and wine at bargain prices (Filet Mignon for about £10) and excellent, friendly service. We were so impressed that we took ourselves back there the next evening!Highly recommended - and well worth the walk out of the centre.

Las Buenas Brasas is surrounded by a dense and colourful garden. The restaurant inside consists of a series of cosy, charmingly decorated rooms round the central bar. Service is extremely good from staff who all appeared to be able to speak English. The menu concentrates on fish and seafood, although meat dishes are also available. Fresh oysters were served with bread on our arrival and wine can be had by glass or bottle. We had a generous crab claw salad, then hake roasted with a crust accompanied by sauté potatoes and a delicious king crab âsouffléâ, though the latter was more a dense stewy mix of crab, cheese, breadcrumbs and probably garlic under a crust. This is a great place!

A chilean southern hideaway where the cuisine takes advantage of the local products adding an oriental touch; it offers wonderful dishes with a magnificent view to all of Puerto Varas.
Really loved this place. Delicious food, excellent wines, complimentary Pisco Sours, amazing dessert, beautiful view, and fantastic service- this place is the total package. I recommend the shrimp Dim Sum appetizer, the Santa Ema Carmenere (wine), the curry, and one of the giant chocolate eggs filled with a local made caramel mousse. Cheers!

El sabor de Peru en el sur de Chile, ven a disfrutar del mejor Pisco Sour peruano de Puerto Varas
We didn't try to much of the menu but what we eat was quite good (8/10). Attention is good, location is also fine with parking inside the restaurant. Is clean, service is reasonably fast and well served. They carry a good offer of Peruvian piscos which are always better than Chilean (sorry but true). Is a good alternative in Puerto Varas. Next time we will try more of the menu but for what we tried it is tasty and good.

We had several breakfasts and dinners at this restaurant. Food quality is tops. Dinner dishes are creative and well-prepared. Service is excellent. Restaurant is spacious and has a spectacular view of the lake and its iconic volcanoes. Our experience is that Cumbres is one of the very best restaurants in the town.

Went there for dinner last night - 100% recommended. We had the small serve mixed plate, seared tuna (perfect) & a salmon crispy roll. The presentation was fantastic and the seafood fresh and beautiful English speaking waiter was very helpful and friendly with good recommendations on what to try. The pisco Sour was pretty good too!!
