We always have dinner or lunch at the commercial when in town. Did not disappoint last night. I had Mongolian beef stir fry which was to die for. The portions have become noticeably smaller in this the past 12 months but still very nice. For a small county pub the food was very good. All meals were on much smaller plates. Not sure what the thinking is behind this but prices are up there for size.one couple ordered the waffles for dessert which were huge. Coffees were very good and staff cheery and helpfull

Making its home in the picturesque little fishing village of Port Albert, 'Wildfish' is South Gippsland's premier waterfront restaurant. With a simple philosophy of producing the freshest local seafood caught by local fishermen 'Wildfish' is much welcomed
This restaurant had been recommended to us as the best place to eat in town, so we booked a meal on a Friday night during a recent visit. When we arrived, we were impressed with its ambience and the friendly efficiency of the waitresses. The food however was a mixed bag. The entree (which was a mixed platter) was excellent - delicious dips, yummy homemade bread, fried haloumi cheese and some scrumptious olives. Sadly, our main course (fish and chips) was rather disappointing. The large rock flathead's batter was rather heavy and greasy, and the chips were mediocre. We struggled to complete even half of this meal. What a shame as the rest of the experience was so positive.

Had a great meal here. The host explained everything to us, and we chose beautiful local fish with chips and salad. Sublime. Good range of beer and wines. Love the fact it's freshly cooked when ordered. The calamari was great, the fish really good. Nice country pub style with locals eating here too. Not expensive either! Nice old building. Great experience all round. We will happily return!
