I was highly disappointed. After reading the reviews...which got me to try it. Crab cake sucked...tasted like every other frozen store bought ones. I didn't finish it. Definitely did not taste homemade. Fried flounder was ok. Husband ate the Cobb salad and chicken wrap. He gave them a good score. Service was fair, nothing to brag about. We did not like the dining setting. Lights too low. Dining area is within the bar area. No charm. Overall I give the place a rating of 4 out of 10. Will not be on my list to go back.

This is a seafood market just outside of Pokomoke City. As well as an extensive amount of fresh seafood to buy for home cooking, there is a menu of fried choices that you can get as take out food. We passed on the platter option which included collards and fries, and just ordered a crabcake sandwich and an oyster sandwich. Portions were very generous. There are only outside picnic tables, and no restroom so plan to take your food down to the riverfront park for a picnic.The store is on a divided highway next to a farm equipment dealer. If you go in and out from the service road on the other side of the tractors, you can cross Ocean Highway and not have to back track or u turn.

What a gem Ray's Shanty is! When we're near Chincoteague we try to come here and always have excellent seafood and enjoy the casual, family-like atmosphere. The owners are intimately involved in greeting customers and make the rounds to see if your meal is what you hoped it would be.Since Ray's is known for their seafood, that's what we always order - fresh, fresh, fresh and cooked to perfection. Scallops can be tricky, but they always broil them just right. The Neptune Chowder is fantastic and the softshell crab platter is the best we've ever had. And we usually make our own softshell crabs...seriously, Ray's is better than we make at home.We recently had just 1 day that we took as a vacation in the midst of some crazy life events. We needed comfort, downtime, great food and a good price. Ray's was our first stop of the day. We left there full, happy, relaxed and ready to cruise through the rest of our day off.Thanks to the staff at Ray's Shanty for treating us like family and serving some amazing seafood!
