The restaurant has inside and outside seating. Beautiful garden. Service was very good. We had the mussel arrangement and it was wonderful. The only dissatisfaction was that the main-dish (mussels)was to salty. But despite that it was worthy. Iâm definitely are coming back to taste the other dishes on the menu.
Casual sophistication, outdoor dining, laidback bar and dancing to old 'n new beats.
MR, a great new place in Paramaribo downtown to dine, drink or dance. DJ Mike is a Giant entertainer with unstoppable endurence. In short; MR is an excellent place to relax and enjoy the real Surinam lifestyle....
The Restaurant is in very nice surroundings and has a great 'Ambiance' The staff are very attentive and the service was good, if a little slow. The Menu has a nice choice of Appetizers and Main Courses, but sadly only a choice of 4 desserts. The pricing is good, with the exception of the house wine at SRD 25.00 (US$ 7.50) per glass, which is very high considering the 'cheapness and quality' of the wine. The appetizers (Crab Cakes) and (Calamari) were well cooked and quite flavorful, but the Crab Cakes were lacking the key ingredient... Crab... I could not identify a single piece of crab within the 3 cakes. The Calamari was cooked perfectly, but again a little more flavor would have been welcome. The Main Courses (Tuna Steak) and (King Crab) were very well cooked, they certainly have a chef who knows how to cook seafood. The Tuna was cooked as requested (Rare) and was served with a very nice Wasabi Cream Sauce. The King Crab was very good and fresh, but the sauce which was served on the side would have been much better if incorporated into the dish. The pricing was reasonable and the experience was very enjoyable. I will definitely return and sample other items on the very extensive menu. The only real negative was a smell of stagnant water (Bad Eggs) which kept wafting over occasionally. This really needs to be addressed as it could prevent me from becoming a frequent visitor.

We went for diner with 7 people in restaurant Flavors of Courtyard by Marriot Surinam the food was a real disappointment not only was the presentation bad also the food wasn't made with love at all!. the meat was of terrible quality and it was burned everywhere it was so bad we didn't even finish the dish not only that but the bread slices where served completely burned, we would've liked a dessert but the mood was already ruined and we where also scared that even that would be bad. Our whole family dinner was ruined so we're never going back there again. if we would have to give a grade they would have gotten a 3, only the house wine was good the rest was a real disappointment. we even ordered a pasta because one of the dishes was so small but when the pasta came we rejected it out of frustration we did pay for it but we didn't want it anymore because the night was already ruined. conclusion bad chef or maybe not even a chef and we absolutely do not recommend it.

I decided to go to De Waag with a colleague who was in Paramaribo on her first visit. De Waag may not be the most exciting place, but the food is decent and the setting is great. I had a light starter, followed by the moksi fish (mixed grilled fish), accompanied by some Chilean wine.
