We chose here for dinner based on the mostly good TA reviews and the listing in our guidebook. The food is very good, served with a smile by the staff as is usually the case in Greece. The menu holds no surprises if you're familiar with the local cuisine, but fish is generally the best option in Gytheio. Definitely recommended.

We enjoyed returning to again this year for another lovely meal. Expertly prepared food, authentic Greek - but with interesting twists. This is not your average taverna fare. Highly recommended for its excellent fish as well as range of creative dishes. Lovely service too! Make sure you make a visit to Thalami.

Followed the signs from the village to this lovely restaurant positioned above the beach. Ordered Greek salad, zucchini balls, burger and coffees. â¬31. Unfortunately, a short dark hair in the zucchini balls put us off returning. A shame as the food was lovely with a good selection. The toilets would have benefitted from a clean - dirty puddles and sand (they have beach beds in front of the restaurant for hire during the day). Staff pleasant enough. Loved the twinkly lights and the boardwalk. Plenty of parking nearby.

Very nice food! The fish was fresh and itâs taste is very rare to find even across Greece. However, the owner keeps low budget in staff, as a result the two people serving the food canât keep up with the requirements of the customers. Finally fake reservations seem to exist in order to give the inside tables first in order to make sure that the place will be full over the evening.

Excellent beach service from a fantastic waitress who goes above and beyond to make sure you are happy. Nice beach but not exceptional. Perfect spot for a drink while watching the sunset and the barman makes a mean caiparinha. Open from early until late so had coffees in the monring on the beach and a cocktail before bed at night. Definitely worth a visit.

This was our second visit in 3 weeks. The taverna Dining platform sits by a clear sea teeming with fish and offering amazing views of sea and mountains. On both visits the food was wholesome and delicious, the welcome genuine and the service efficient. We loved the marinated anchovies, grilled sardines and delicious meat dishes. Children were fascinated watching fish in the water below, snorkelling from an adjacent sea ladder and watching a turtle swimming a little way from us.

Had some cocktails that were supposed to contain alcohol. Taste was good although rather sweet. After having finished them we were 99% sure that either no or a negligeable quantity of alcohol was used. Regarding the price (12 ⬠/ drink), this can well be called a tourist trap/rip-off. Avoid ordering alcohol here unless it is ouzo or beer from a bottle. By the way: nice setting.

And fish tavern, that has a lovely view over the sea. Dishes were tasteful, but I think it's inappropriate when they don't clean prawns properly. Also complementary fruit served in a small atomic plate - not for all of those sitting at the table- (a small piece of watermelon) was simply rediculous.
