We always make it a point to eat at Jay's when we're in Ocean City, and we usually do so while we're checking out the shops downtown. It's a casual place with excellent food and service. My husband--whose favorite food is seafood---loves their crab cakes, and this year, I enjoyed the grouper sandwich. The kids always seem to forget that their kids meals are served on frisbees...then are delighted at the end of the meal when they have something to take with them. Highly recommend!

Our mistake was assuming a restaurant in a fine hotel might have a chef. We hoped to have dinner but It seems all they could really offer was the all you can eat crab special. Once we were finally waited on, and since we were given a menu, and didn't know any better, we ordered the $29 beef tenderloin and a beer battered shrimp dish. The food (if you can call it that) took forever to be served. The shrimp were inedible and the beef had the consistency and flavor of a bad sirloin. The beef was served with leftover breakfast potatoes. Bottom line, don't order off the menu on crab night! By the way, this was the first time we ever complained to restaurant staff about a meal. They did apologize and provided a discount.

We came in just for a quick bite and their corn and clam chowder was delicious. Also, their sweet fruity ice tea was super refreshing and not too sweet at all. If looking for some quick food on the boardwalk that won't make you feel sick after, this is the place.

Live around the corner, but our first time visit this summer. Seated right away and waitress was there to get drink orders . Ocean City, means no alcohol. Great mussels for starters. All are entrees were huge, took home half of everything. Service was great as always. Table for four too small as always. Worth a try.

Got two jumbo shrimp platters which we both really enjoyed. The french fries were good and still hot and crunchy by the time we got home. We were not fans of the coleslaw. It is a bit pricier than what we would pay at home, but that is to be expected given the location. The service was friendly. We will definitely return!

We arrived and asked to be seated outside. There were table left unclean, but because we had a large stroller and a baby, we remained outside. 15-20 minutes passed and no one came back outside, so I went in to ask for assistance. The young lady apologized, but still about 10 minutes passed with no service. So we left.I later contacted the restaurant and spoke with the owner who initially apologized, but subtly excused the inactions because they were short staffed. She said she'd look into it and get back to me and almost three weeks later, I've heard nothing. I understand the shore is a seasonal town and employees begin to leave to go back to school; however, when I've driven over an hour to go specifically to patronize an establishment, I would like to be treated like my business means something. I extended grace by contacting the owner, but based on her own inactions in addition to her staff, I have nothing pleasant to say about Island Grille and I would not recommend it. My daughter who lives 15 minutes away said she would not go back either. Two people not returning will not hurt their business, but I feel that future patrons should be aware of what they could potentially be exposed to.

Since I was at the shore, I thought I would get seafood. Fresh flounder stuffed with crab meat sounded delicious. The presentation was odd, flounder wrapped around tasteless crab meat. There was no seasoning, not even salt and pepper. It came with plain rice and fresh green beans. It was expensive at 24.95 and you only were served 2 small, about the size of a small coaster, flounder wrapped around crab meat. Everything is extra, salad although it was great, was 2.00 more, ice tea, 2.50, no rolls and butter, no thing else. You got a bathroom Dixie cup full of white rice and about 10 string beans. Too bad the food is not that great because the views of the boardwalk and ocean are fantastic.

Ikeâs caught my eye on OC, NJ boardwalk down near 4th-5th street- so we stopped in. Bigger location than up near 12th on boardwalk, but same great menu. I ordered fish tacos, loved the sauce sampler that came with them and was so surprised by freshly made, hot butterfly chips that also came with it as well with the chicken fingers kids meal. Good spot on the boardwalk for a tasty bite.

We waited a little while for a table which is normal for this restaurant. The service was good. The seafood was fresh for the most part. We ordered the broiled seafood combination. My only complaint was that the shrimp were a bit gamey smelling. I don't think they were bad though. The coleslaw and fries were also good. The other complaint was that one menu said there were clam fritters available as a side, but when we go the actual menu this was not the case. Desserts sounded good, but we did not see or order them.

We have ordered food from here on many occasions while in OC. All of the seafood dishes are delicious. I cannot speak to the other dishes. The seafood dishes come with sticky rice and salad. Some of our favorites are the coconut shrimp and the salmon.
