Every time we go back to Sails in the quaint village of Rowayton, we are enveloped by the great vibes of this friendly sanctuary. Add to that atmosphere their superb service, food and drinks and you have the makings of a great night out. The chefâs imaginative tweaks to some standard dishes along with classic items, using the best ingredients, all cooked to perfection, results in very happy customers. Go!

If you like the real deal, go to the Royal Guard Fish and Chips Restaurant. Cricket on the TV, bright neon lights, next to a somewhat suspect motel BUT the food is fantastic and the man who took our order was wonderful. It's northern Indian and though I have eaten there only once, my husband has eaten there 7. Need I say more? The Nan is out of this world and the fish curry is not the dry tasteless nonsense one typically gets but it's fresh and flaky and the sauce (I might have licked the bowl) It's has a fast food vibe but frankly who cares. They have other chips and fried fare but my money is on the Indian/Pakistani dishes. It is a welcome addition to an area full of bad Pizza and subs!
We were in the mood for seafood last night and were hoping to discover a new spot. We had heard great things about Knot Norms and were not disappointed. The location is definitely off the beaten path, in a residential neighborhood, but right near the water so it was an optimistic sign! The restaurant is small, with seating both inside, and in good weather- outside. It was a gorgeous night, so we ate outside. There is not much of a view to speak of, so we were able to pay close attention to the food!We ordered a whole array of things from a very friendly and accommodating staff. There is a large selection of local Craft beers which added to the atmosphere. We decided on Ghost Wings (flavorful and hot- but not painfully so) Steamers- a generous portion and sweet!, a Fried Oyster Roll (delicious with homemade tartar sauce) a BBQ Shrimp Roll, a Bacon Lettuce Tomato Roll (tons of bacon!) and Roasted Shishito peppers. The buns were buttered and toasted and the rolls were served with a side of chips, coleslaw and homemade pickles. We were happy and stuffed by the end!! There is a Mr. Frost Ice Cream stand right next door which was mobbed, but we were just too full. This was a great find, and we are looking forward to going back and trying everything else on the menu.

We found Sunset Grille for a Sunday lunch, after coming from a very unwelcoming experience in Rowayton. Sunset Grille is a casual spot tucked away surrounded by the marina at Calf Pasture Beach. The staff was very welcoming and the service was excellent. We ate outside by the water in an area with mesh over it to lessen the severity of the sun. A guitar player offered music appropriate for the setting. The food was enjoyed by all of us. The weak point of the food was the caprese salad. In July I would have hoped for fresher tomatos. That said, no other complaints were heard from our table. The steamers were clean and tasty. The fish tacos I had were very good. If you are looking for a place on the water for very good food, with excellent service and a relaxing location, this is the spot.

In keeping with BJ Ryan's tradition, the BANC House continues to bring new flavor to Norwalk. Be our guest and feel right at home with great food and a wonderful atmosphere. Our full menu of regional BBQ and crab favorites, appetizers, sides, and desserts
We returned to Banc House after a number of years and were delighted to find a warm, friendly atmosphere with an excellent kitchen. Cobb salad was generous and fresh. BBQ offerings could be had as platters or sides: We enjoyed a half pound of delicious brisket and perfectly made sweet potato fries. Look forward to returning.

We wandered into this restaurant after a late movie and were more than pleasantly surprised. The menu was huge, filled with mostly latin cuisine, with some authentic Peruvian dishes as well as Latin sushi and sashimi. Service was excellent and the dishes were very attractively presented. Be careful not to over order, as the appetizers are the size of entrees.

Located on bluff overlooking Norwalk harbor. Small parking lot for size of restaurant often necessitating street parking which isnât easy. 7:00 PM Saturday reservation on a beautiful Saturday evening. Seated promptly. Nice window side table but unfortunately table rocked terribly. Split burrata wrapped with prosciutto. Burrata excellent but prosciutto low quality - very stringy. Salmon entree with julienne vegetables. Ahi tuna with bok Choi, creamed wasabi sauce and wasabi mashed potatoes. Both excellent. Now to the service. Started fine but once runner brought entrees it fell apart horribly. We each had a glass of wine to start the meal but by the time that the entree was served both wine glasses and both water glasses empty. Looked around for server, runner and not a single individual to be seen. Didnât really want to start the entree with zero fluids on the table. Approx ten minutes passed and finally able to grab attention of our waitress who was taking an order at an adjacent table. Politely asked for water with intent of ordering more wine. Nothing came. She then could be seen serving other tables. No water, no nothing! I finally got up with our empty water glasses to walk to the bar for water. The waitress saw me and asked that I please be seated. Water finally arrived. At no point were we ever approached to ask if we needed anything such as a refill of our wine, to inquire as to the meal, etc. For the price point of this restaurant to say that the service was significantly worse than at Shake Shack is an understatement. Will never return. Place was packed so maybe our experience was an aberrancy but Iâm not willing to try again.

As former (many moons ago) Rowayton residents, my wife and I were eager to try this restaurant. We were meeting friends for a Sunday lunch and looking forward to good food and catching up with our friends. We had a reservation for noon and showed up five minutes late. We were told we could eat on the porch but would have to be done by 1:00pm due to a large party they had booked. When we said we did not want to have be done by 1:00 we were put at a table by the door to the porch, which was busy with staff going in an out. We were the only ones in this small dining room. It didn't help that the main AC unit was evidently broken, so the wall and window units pointed at our table were cooling the entire restaurant (as explained by our waiter). After driving 1 1/2 hours to eat there we left. Why the person I made the reservation with a few days earlier didn't tell me our lunch had a tight time parameter I don't know. The young lady's we dealt with had no interest in helping us with options as to our dining experience with the restaurant. We found an excellent alternative in Norwalk and have no plans to return to The Restaurant at Rowayton Seafood.Royce,Thank you for taking the time to review The Restaurant. There was never a time parameter on your reservation so there was no need to mention that on the phone. The job of the host is to offer you all available tables. They offered you the table on the porch so you would have the option to sit there if youâd like. That table was going to be used for a large party so if you chose to sit there yes that specific table would have a time parameter in order to accommodate the party. We are currently working on getting our air conditioning system back up and running. In order to cool the restaurant we have to insert window units. If this was uncomfortable for you we do apologize and hope you understand this is a temporary solution. We hope youâll reconsider dining with us now knowing that you had no time restraints and the AC will be back to normal soon. Thank you.

My husband & I went to dinner for our anniversary and sat by the window next to the beautiful waterfall. Everything we ate was delicious, especially the Parmesan crusted halibut. Itâs crave-able! There is a train line that runs back there too, but it only passed by once in the 90 minutes we were there. Service was fabulous too!
