The "De Meerpaal" is only recommended for lovers of fish and seafood. The food was wonderful, the hosts as well. The owner speaks German and likes to give recommendations for food choice. You can tell that he and his wife (cook) run this restaurant with passion. We would always book a table here again.

We LOVED our visit with Martha and her daughter! Itâs our first day in Zandvoort and we were running late for our evening dinner plans and Martha was so welcoming. She made me and fiancé each a plate of really delicious gyros and made us feel like family. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was wonderful. We so appreciate having run into Martha; someone so warm, with such generosity and happiness to share. She truly lights up the room and makes you feel at home. We canât wait to go back!!!! Zandvoort is lucky to have Martha and her family.

This is a hidden gem! The restaurant is housed in the fascinating and spectacular 100 year old country estate hotel Duin en Kruidberg and is located in Santpoort, about 6 kilometers north of Haarlem. So you do have to travel to get there, but it is worth it. As mentioned on its website, De Vrienden van Jacob have had 1 Michelin star since 2006, and this star is more than deserved. The head chef, Alain Alders, visits each and every guest at the start of their dinner to personalize their experience. We elected a 5 course surprise menu with wine selections. It was absolutely superb, refined, delicious....The wine selections were great and for North Americans different from what they get served in the USA or Canada. Also, the price-tag for a 5 course dinner was favorable (around 90 Euros), certainly compared to what people pay in North America. In short, a restaurant that definitely is worthwhile visiting and you can decide to sleep at the hotel to get that little extra heavenly experience. By the way, reservations are required, but if you are unable to make a reservation online, it is worth calling the restaurant directly. We got a last minute reservation onsite!Dear C-Z-1982,We are happy to read that your stay has been satisfactory. We would also like to thank you for the time you have taken to leave a comment. We are look forward to welcome you again at restaurant De Vrienden van Jacob or for a overnight stay at the Country Estate! With best regards,Amber Timmers - Marketing Coordinator

Had a reservation at 19:00 and realized 1 hour before that they tried to push the reservation to 21:00 without even asking. Bad first impression. The 6 course meal was wonderful, everything tasting perfect and catered to our interesting. The asparagus course was a hit for us. Kept us constantly yearning for more. Dessert was truly great with so many amazing textures and flavors. Prefect. My boyfriend accidentally dropped a glass of our wonderful sparking wine on the concrete flooring and was devastated.. I assured him that everything was fine but no one mentioned it or brought another glass for him. It wasnât even cleaned up by the staff.. unacceptable. Our mood was instantly ruined. Seeing as it was his birthday I went to a nearby waiter to make them aware that it was his birthday and that he was feeling a bit down about the glass broken on the floor... they didnât do anything special for his birthday either and charged us for the replacement glass of sparking wine... left a bad taste in both of our mouths.. Quite let down. I was expecting so much more after reading the raving reviews. What was supposed to be our fancy last fancy dinner in Amsterdam turned out to put a bummer on our last day. Regretful. The service just did not match the food.

In the middle of Amsterdam's Jordaan quarter you will come across a cosy seafood restaurant. Seafood with a twist that is... Because we do not only serve a mean classic Fish and Chips (our speciality) but we also offer a variety of mussel dishes, oysters,
After passing this restaurant hundreds of times, we finally decided to visit. They definitely do the best fish and chips in Amsterdam. The chips were as close to what youâd get in the UK as possible, plus they had excellent quality fish and a great selection of beers too. We both had cod and chips each, and shared the shrimp croquettes. All food was excellent. Service was very friendly too. The price tag reflects the quality...if visiting from the UK donât expect to pay what you usually would in your local chip shop. This is more gourmet fish and chips rather than cheap as chips :)We will definitely be back and are relieved to have found somewhere for fish and chip Friday!Hi,So happy to read we finally won you over after passing hundreds of times. Thanks for your kind review, it is good to read you where pleased with all of it.See you again for a fish and chip Friday;)Cheers,Enno

For an experience with a true Amsterdam icon and legendary food encounter do not pass up this eatery. Worth searching for, but not that difficult to find. Rob has been at this location for 40 years and deserves the reputation he enjoys for amazing seafood and fish choices. A cordial fun loving host, owner, and ambassador for all of the Netherlands. And like he says, if you donât have the pickled herring, why are you here at all ?

Let's call it a cute restaurant. It serves fresh fish, it serves Texel lamb, which was the reason we came. And we were not disappointed. A delicious meal, a memorable meal.We had a great time. One thing to remember, reservations are a must.

Marque Restaurant is an experience about the seasonal products during the year. We select our finest ingridients for a special degustation menu to give our guests the best tastes!
From the start you feel welcome in this 17th century building. Warm reception by the staff. Surprising 3 or 7 course menu with or without wines. But adaptations are no problem. Extensive explanation about the dishes and the wines, very much appreciated. Excellent balance of tastes, also the presentation of the dishes is perfect. Go on like this !

This was the second time that I ate here, and again the wait was very long. Also the staff was sloppy. I normally wouldn't complain about this in a normal restaurant, but for the prices that you pay here you should expect more. The food however was good, but in my opinion not worth the money. Dear mr,mrs,Thank you for your review on Tripadvisor, we really do our best to make a nice and special evening for our guests. We serve one menu of at least 4 courses (saturday starting at 5 courses) with only the ingredients that we really support. Our appetizers and dishes are inspired by the seasons, what the island offers us and vegetables have the leading role. The meat, fis
Whilst holidaying on Texel, we celebrated our wedding anniversary with our two boys (aged 9 and 13) by introducing them to fine din8ng in Kook Atelier. They were a little nervous beforehand, partly at the thought of experimenting with food and partly because we don't speak Dutch. As we entered the restaurant, any fears were quickly dispelled as our waitress greeted us in excellent English and went out of her way to make us all feel at home. We went for a six course 'surprise' menu, with added amuse bouches. We were not disappointed; every course was made from fresh, local produce and was presented with beauty, style and in one course humour (a delicious seafood dish served in a sardine tin!)The taste combinations were exquisite, with parsley sorbet, served with strawberries in multiple forms, a real surprise hit! The service was also exceptional, the waitress and chef going out of their way to ensure we all got the most out of our meal. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys a truly fine dining experience. Thank you. Thank you so much for this wonderfull review, hope to see you again!
