I was the first time Germany went with the family and it was excellent all the time but the atmosphere was very cold and I ate at this excellent restaurant eating very excellent and excellent service and a beautiful interview from Mr Ulrich peters this person is excellent and esteemed thanks for everything

Our second trip to Hamburg.Our second trip to this restaurant.It was high on our list and exactly the same as our first visit.Fantastic food, a whole plaice served in a traditional way with bacon.The German potatoes beautifully cooked, the meal was so wonderful could not fault it.The staff professional and friendly.Just the two of them, rushed off their feet, in and outside, it was quite busy.But they still were able to smile and were approachable.Ice cream outside in the sunshine.Cannot wait for the next visit.It is a long journey, but so worth it.

On a house boat just near the ferry stop on the north side of the Elbe at Teufelsbruck. Very friendly they have a nice selection of mid-priced fish dishes - went for a salad to start - good size. Then took the griiled "hot" herrings with potatoes - these were excellent. A dark beer to accompany. Work colleague had zander - it was a bit bland for her pity as its a staple in Germany and I like it. Prices low end of mid-reange. Watery surroundings in an unusual place.

Service was very friendly and attentive throughout. Food generally ok, fish was fresh and tasty and the cold starter plate was nice (although unspectacular). Really disappointed by the traditional âHamburger Pannfischâ, which was exactly the same dish as their âvariety of three fish filetsâ with some sauce served with it separately. The sauce was not like a tasty mustard sauce either. Pannfisch should be one type of fish served covered in the mustard sauce... The white wine by the glass and a subsequent bottle ordered, was not cold enough. So I had mixed feelings about the evening. I presume, food is the reason you come here, whichnis why I give only three stars despite the great service.

Top tip: take the 10 o'clock Hanseferry "Kleine Freiheit" from Landungsbrücken in Hamburg to Blankenese, spend an hour or so wandering through the lanes admiring the old fisher Cottages, then have an excellent fish lunch, with good wine accompaniment, before taking the 1.50 p.m. Ferry back to Hamburg, which includes a tour of the Container Harbour. Great value for Money (â¬18 for 2 hour Ferry trip) and the fish lunch was excellent!

On the last evening of our holiday we stayed in Landhaus Mienenbuttel and had dinner in their restaurant. No difficult menu, just good plain food!Staff very friendly.
