A very popular place with Japanese skills required and most likely a reservation required as well to get in. The menu is entirely in Japanese and written with a brush. The menu was large and had a good variety of seafoods and platters. Food was very cheap and excellent! We ate a sashimi platter, fried squid tentacles, raw sea urchin, pork kimchi, assorted deep fried seafoods, tofu and grilled mackerel. The best food was a serving of soft and savoury eel with rice.

Seating along the windows provides a full view of the ocean and Megami Bridge while enjoying meals. This is the main restaurant of Yasuragi Ioujima Hotel and can handle small groups as well as large parties.

I visited for dinner and enjoyed 80g of Saga beef and abalone. The portion sizes were just right and beautifully prepared and cooked on the teppan. The restaurant was quiet on a Tuesday evening and I think there would be no difficulties getting a reservation. The staff did not speak English but an English menu was available. A good place to try Saga beef in Nagasaki.

Extremely good top-notch Sushi for just half of the usual price for this quality! I recommend the omakase (chefs choice of the day) menu for around 5000 JPY per Person. Very friendly and welcoming family business (don't expect English conversation or menu though).

A kaitenzushi place popular for locals and foreigners alike. The suchi selection is big, with classical versions. The quality/price ratio is good. Friendly and quick service.

The one other previous English-language reviewer steered me to this small neighborhood restaurant not far from the JR train station. I went for lunch and had a delicious sashimi set (with rice, miso soup, egg custard pickles dessert) for under $10. The staff doesn't speak much English but the waitress tried her best and was so friendly and kind. I highly recommend this place. One of the best meal deals I've gotten in Japan (and I'm a foodie).

This Japanese restaurant is great for locals and English speaking travellers as it has a comprehensive English menu. The fish does not come any fresher, the prices reasonable and welcoming friendly atmosphere. We only had a small selection of their dishes and would love to come back for a full dinner. What we had was superb!
