Best Seafood restaurants nearby. Discover the best Seafood food in Mystic. View Menus, Photos and Reviews for Seafood restaurants near you.. Swab the decks, batten down the hatches and get ready to set sail for a weekend of adventure in Mystic, Connecticut's seaside city devoted to all things maritime. From the popular Mystic Seaport, a recreated 19th-century seafaring village, to the newly updated Mystic Aquarium, where you can mingle with beluga whales, seals and dolphins, there is something nautical at every turn. The Colonial period buildings of Olde Mystick Village offer a few tasty seafood restaurants, historical atmosphere and a multitude of unique gift shops. While most of Mystic's attractions have a marine theme, there are a couple of exceptions: landlubbers may want to check out the Mystic Art Association's galleries and studios, which showcase the work of local and regional artists. Or have a lunch at Mystic Pizza, the eatery made famous by the Julia Roberts movie of the same name. From restaurants with plenty of crayons and kid's menus to hotels with puppet shows and bedtime story hours, everything about Mystic is geared toward children, making it a fun and educational family getaway. And for adults, the nearby Foxwoods and Mohegan Sun casino complexes are a sure bet for entertainment.

Stopped in for lunch. Very nice service, pleasant sitting outside on the porch. But our meals did not meet our expectations. One of our group had a lobster roll and said it had too much mayonnaise which overwhelmed the lobster. Another had the fish sandwich and reported that, while the fish was nice and crispy, it was a bit greasy. There seemed to be quite a few regular customers there, so must be popular with the local crowd. Maybe we just caught them on a bad day.

Harbour House Restaurant

We dined at the Harbour House Restaurant in Mystic last evening. We were seated at a cozy table in front of the fireplace on a very chilly, raw night so the atmosphere in the restaurant was wonderful. The service was flawless and the entrees were delicious. My wife chose tuna and I selected the bouillabaisse. Both dishes were excellent. We live in Florida now but had spent the previous thirty years in Connecticut on the shoreline, about 30 miles west of Mystic but had never visited the Harbour House. For anyone living near Mystic or just “passing through” I would highly recommend this great restaurant—-don’t miss it!

My brother and his wife were up from Florida so we decided to go to Stonington and Mystic for the day. For dinner we decided on S&P Oyster. Initially we had planned on Bravo Bravo but it is closed on Mondays which we found out when we got there. S&P was crowded so we thought that was a good sign. My brother and I had the filet which was excellent (both of us wanted the strip steak but non available and it was 5:30 p.m. NOT GOOD) but the fried palenta side dish was disappointing - the menu had said stuffed baked potato???? The fried palenta looked good but was was essentially bland. Our wives both had fish and they both were pleased. The servers ( 2 for our table) were attentive but seemed annoyed everytime we asked a question or needed something which wasn't at all often. Not sure if they were having a bad night or what. Final evaluation - excellent food but thumbs down on the wait staff. Next time it will be Bravo Bravo.Hi Stuart, thank for your review, we are delighted to hear you enjoyed your food. We do strive to deliver the highest quality in both food and service so we are sorry to hear that the waitstaff did not exceed your expectations. I do hope that you will allow us another opportunity to impress you, you won’t be disappointed.

Went as a couple last Friday night to celebrate our anniversary. I can't comment on the food or drinks, but I can provide feedback on our awkward and uncomfortable experience. We walked and to check with the hostess and were asked if we had reservations. We said no , but don't mind if there's a wait. She actually rolled her eyes and said " Well, it's at least an hour wait!" We said that's ok and asked to place our name on the wait list. No problem we figured we'd have a drink at the bar. Bad idea! As soon as we walked in , not even taking a seat the man behind the bar tells us" There's Five People waiting for these Seats!" We hadn't even asked. He appeared to just kind of get in our faces as soon as we even dared to walk in. I've never felt so unwelcome and this did hurt my feelings. We are never turned down like this. I understand it being busy on a Friday night. But, we decided to go elsewhere not due to the wait time, but because we were uncomfortable about being served food by people who were so inconvenienced by our presence. Ended up going to Go Fish where we were welcomed and had great service, good food and awesome martinis, but that's another review.

The Mariner

My wife and I stopped in during an overnight stay in Mystic. I chose this restaurant based on the TripAdvisor reviews. This place is centrally located in downtown Mystic. It was a busy Saturday night, so it took about 30 minutes to get a table. The restaurant is clean and tastefully decorated. The manager was great. He was personable and professional. The server (Keely?) was very friendly, knew the menu, and was very efficient with her service. We ordered the clam chowder, fish n chips, and the Black fish special. All the food was tasty, but the chowder was one of the best I ever had (and I grew up in Massachusetts and vacation every year in Maine). The chowder was thick and well seasoned. I will return to the Mariner the next time I’m in the area. We're so glad you enjoyed everything at The Mariner. We're pretty proud of our clam chowder here. Hope to see you again very soon!
