This is a very popular fish restaurant in the center of Trieste, one block from the sea front. You must make reservations there, and prefer the first rather than the second shift which is more in demand. The restaurant is offering absolutely fresh fish and sea food. We were there in the season of sole fish from the Adriatic, and they were served in a simple but excellent grilled sauce. The menu is quite extensive, and the accompanying white wine (Sauvignon Blanc of Fruscalzo) was superb, fresh, a bit grassy as it should be, and very enjoyable. A nice restaurant.

We had a lunch with the family during a short stay in Trieste. We booked in advance, as the place is very small. The fish and seafood starter was excellent, as the calamari I had as main. The kids had gnocchi and my wife went for the seafood pasta and were very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the food. The kids loved the tiramisu as dessert. The service was efficient and the price very reasonable. It is an informal, but very genuine local setting with a family and homely feeling. Highly recommendable for a quick informal lunch.

If visiting this place don't pass the opportunity to try the famous black pizza. It's very interesting to the eye and your taste buds. It has a specific fine taste that you will definitely like. Their menu offer is huge and you'll have problems deciding what to offer. But there's the staff to help you choose. Ask for their recommendation. We will definitely get back on our next visit to the coast.

We visited mr. Renzo's twice in two consecutive evenings for dinner and we certainly enjoyed it a lot. First night we were introduced to two live crabs that walked onto our table like those Roman gladiators who saluted Ceasar before their fights. The spaghetti was excellent, cooked perfectly al dente with the right amount of sauce and spices. For starters we took the Tuna tartare which was fine but perhaps needed some more shallots or spices. The real deal of the establishment is of course Mr. Renzo himself who singlehanded serves, takes orders, discusses with his customers "friends" as he calls them, and proposes only what he has for the day since there is no actual menu. To close the perfect plate we ordered the sorbet with rum which was perfect. Second night mr. Renzo suggested gnochi with "branzino" which is seabass and it was indeed a very nice choice. You will not be dissapointed with the food but just because this restaurant is off the beaten path the amount you will pay is not very low. But it's worth it.

The most inviting aspect of this restaurant is its location, sitting directly on the waterfront, it has a very pleasant atmosphere. The joy though ends there unfortunately as the fresh fish prices, which you aren't told at the time of ordering, are ridiculous for what you receive. Almost 100 euros for an average size sea bass plus the sides are an additional cost and the thing is it's not at all that special, no fancy labour intensive sauce comes out of the kitchen just the fish and not much of that either. The chefs name was proudly displayed on a board outside but why I don't know as no tatent to be proud of was displayed here. I left the restaurant feeling I'd hugely overpayed for what was distinctly average food and I definitely won't be back.

Hiden within narrow streets of Muggia center Splendor is providing family atmosphere and probably is family owned and family managed. Menu is not big however enough to enjoy lunch after short walk or visiting mearby clothes outlet. We've eaten fish and other seafood, then chocolate muss for desert. White wine as house wine was OK too.

We took a mid morning ferry from Trieste to Muggia on a beautiful Sunday morning and were charmed by the relaxed atmosphere of the town. We considered several places for lunch but so luckily picked this wonderful restaurant. The husband and wife team work smoothly to deliver the finest food experience. The mixed seafood antipasto was superb - such choice and flavours. The stuffed ravioli and prawns were sublime in flavour. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and the welcome extended to us. My Italian is poor but I hope enough to communicate our appreciation. So sad time did not permit a return visit
