Reviews on Seafood food in Monaco-Ville, Monaco. Monaco City (French: Monaco-Ville) is the southcentral Ward in the Principality of Monaco. Located on a headland that extends into the Mediterranean Sea, Monaco City is nicknamed The Rock (French: Le Rocher). The name "Monaco City" (French: Monaco-Ville) is misleading, Monaco City is a historical and statistical district, not a city.

Our hotel recommended this gem for our last night in the area. A winding road brought us to this perfect place right on the water. Our view to the west was stunning as sunset hit and our dinner matched. The uniqueness of the layout of the place added to our pleasure as did the service. Oysters, salmon carpaccio, daurade, loup de mer, a lovely wine list and the fact that the diners were mostly local made for a perfect evening.

Located in âdowntownâ Monaco, right on the famous Boulevard Albert 1er on the Port Hercule waterfront where the rich and famous cavort, and the fast and furious Formula 1 cars compete and careen dangerously.. a waterfront that is crammed with the huge, floating palaces disguised as âyachtsâ of extreme dimensions, price-tags, and pedigrees⦠of playboys and playthings and parties of dubious pedigree and stratospheric price tags⦠you get the drift ! And with a great view of the surrounding hills with the untouchable real estate and mansions. As the sun goes down, the whole vista lights up and sparkles, both on land and water, and looks just unbelievably fabulous. And if seated at LâEscaleâs front window tables at the right time, you would enjoy a ringside view of the speeding Formula 1 (and recently also electric powered) cars whizzing past on that boulevard right outside. The décor is primarily wood⦠the nautical inspired light-honey-brown wood and gleaming brass that is so prevalently used in yacht-building. Combine that with âItalianâ, and one gets high fashion and classy European design ~ and Italy has that market cornered.Staff at the door looking to grab (entice ?) passersby: perhaps they were just not that busy at the moment, and having just descended into the harbor area after a city-bus tour and walking around the Place du Palais in the summer heat, we were quite about ready for a cool seat and sustenance. We walked by once, looking for something else, but were put off by all the pizza joints along the boulevard, and came back and got enticed by the aforementioned gentlemen âStaff at the door.â We were promptly seated close to the front (â¦.no Formula 1s or electrics that evening) and offered cool water to start, and chilled ½ liter of the locally produced Bandol (quite exquisite) with a platter of pates and some olives & breads. We swilled the wine and mulled over the menu⦠which is the standard Italian fare of Little Italy in NYC and elsewhere: pastas, pizzas (I thought we were avoiding pizzas hereâ¦?) parmesanes, salades, spaghetti, fusilli, et. al. â¦aaaaaaah, whattheheck ?For mains, we ordered the eggplant parmesan, and a canard dish, followed by an excellent, well balanced caprese tart to finish off. The parmesan was very good, cheesy & crispy with happy eggplant and herb overtones, but the duck was a bit over-salted and tough. My wife loves duck, but this bird is starting to get my goat. All in all, not too bad for food, and the service was friendly (we noticed the place had filled up, thanks to the unflagging efforts of the two aforementioned gentlemen-at-door â¦who, having done their duty, were nowhere to be seen when we left.)Value for money ~ for this location: very inexpensive ! All for around $90 for the two.Atmosphere ~ chic and classy, elegant and hectic, though service can be slow !!Experience ~ great â¦and would almost go back, if I wanted more Italian food !!And now, off to home and work in New York tomorrow morning.

We had a brief stay in Cannes and stopped for Lunch here and the food was fantastic. The Pizza was really nice and the only negative was how big it was as I couldn't eat it all!!! My wife had a nice pasta dish and again the quality was really good. Sat overlooking the building with all the pictures of various movies and stars was great so if I am ever fortunate enough to go to Cannes again then I would definitely eat here.

Nice ambience but very expensive for what you get for at an Italian Pizza Restaurant ordered the seafood paella and pizzas had couple bottles of wine at Euro 29 recommended by waiter and 2 bottles of water Euro 6 each bill came to Euro 250 waiter and staff very pleasant but found it very much overpriced for a mid-week meal. Dear Bobby027,Thank you very much for your feedback and for the nice comments about our staff and ambience. We have a wide selection of dishes and wines on our menu, to satisfy everybody, so, I'm sure next time you will come to visit us we will recommend you some food and drinks more appropriate.Looking forward to welcome you again soon. With Kind Regards,Luigi Visciano

Our hotel made us a dinner reservation here pre cruise. It was a nice spot to sit outside and look at the marina as well as people watching. The menu was French and we had oysters to start which my husband enjoyed. He had the scallops and said they were good and I had the gnocchi which were fine. The service was good, nothing over the top special. A nice bonus was the fireworks at the marina, not sure if they do this all the time or we just got lucky.

Enjoyed a really delicious seafood meal here! Is an authentic fish restaurant tucked away at the end of the port a 7 min taxi ride from central Monaco and well worth the trip. The service was friendly, efficient and attentive. Beautiful location for an early evening supper . Open most days for lunch but only Wednesday and Thursday for dinner. Made for a refreshing change from the sometimes OTT dining in Monaco Hello,We would like to thank you for the time spent writing this commentary. The whole team is very happy that you enjoyed it. We opened the evening service to satisfy our guests.Thank you and see you soon !
