In my experience, fish & chips--as well as food trucks--can vary in quality. The Frying Dutchman does both right. I love fish that is battered, but not a thick batter. This food truck gets it just right with a thin batter that sticks to the fish, but doesn't overwhelm it. The fries are thick cut, still french fries, not cottage fries, and with a crisp outer surface and a smooth potato inside. The Frying Dutchman's tarter sauce is a special mix, a lot of dill by the looks of the sauce, but the dill flavor is muted. The Frying Dutchman has a pretty set rotation of sites, which you can find on their website. I will definitely follow them around.

Although I gave this restaurant a 5, my husband would give it a 4. I am writing this, so... Such a wonderful, hot, day on the waterfront of Tacoma, I greatly enjoyed sitting outside and people watching with a delicious salad and perfect crab cakes and an excellent wine. His oysters had "too much breading." But, he enjoyed the perfectly poured porter. I would recommend this place on the industrial waterfront in Tacoma with no reservations. It was lovely, and within walking distance from our hotel.

This restaurant is next to the courtyard Marriott so a great location if you are staying there. I wanted to venture to Wooden City, but this was just so convenient. I sat at the bar, good service. They do add a 20% gratuity - yes even if you are alone - but itâs very clear on the receipt. They have extended Happy Hour hours. The food was good - especially if you are paying HH prices. I thought the wine pours were generous. I had a Caesar salad (too much cheese and dressing) and a flatbread.

Venue is nice, and staff attentive. My meal, however, was very disappointing. I don't eat much fried food normally, but ordered the fried shrimp (perhaps hoping it was going to be tempura-like). Bad decision. The meal arrived with a plate filled mainly with fries, all very overcooked and pretty tasteless A few overcooked shrimp were buried in the mess of fries. The whole plate just looked .... brown. Two small bowls on the side - one with a dip for the shrimp, the other with about a tablespoon of coleslaw doused in mayonnaise, which looked unappetizing and tasted off. I know you can fry food and keep it healthy and full of flavor, but this was not one of those meals, with not a fresh vegetable in sight. My friend's burger did look better,, but this review is for the meal I received. I don't often visit the Seattle area, so I'm not likely to go back.

We traveled from Oregon to attend a concert at the Tacoma Dome and we very pleased that we found Stanley & Seafortâs. The service was outstanding and welcoming, even the valet staff was super friendly!The restaurant has a great view and the food is outstanding. My wife had the rib special and she loved it. I had the Seafood Louise salad and it to was great. Next time we are in Tacoma we will be visiting Stanley & Seafortâs again.
