We found this restaurant on the harbour front. Very friendly staff and owner, who was also the chef. We had lunch and dinner here as all the other restaurants, were too touristy or had limited menu choices. We were not disappointed. Great food at reasonable prices. Would highly recommend.

Whilst visiting koumpara beach we were recommended to have our lunch at polydoros My other half loves traditional food and was blown away by this place. We were taken into the kitchen area by the young girl who went on to explain what each dish was They are very attentive and welcoming. Food was delicious. You must go here if you get chance

Horrible experience. Killed my vibe on Ios for sure. Iâve never written a bad review but I was so astonished at what happened that I wanted to share my experience. Food was plated gorgeous as youâve seen in pictures Iâm sure. The cook on the food was well executed, but the flavor profile was not sophisticated enough to blow me away or anything extraordinary as the other reviewers suggested. The issue was when there was a cat standing within a foot next to me the whole meal. I have a severe allergy from cats, where my throat closes up. I told the server that I had an allergy and if he could just move the cat away from the table. The cat came back and we tried to shoo it away, but was responded by the waitress yelling at us saying âdonât treat him like that heâs not touching youâ when in fact he did touch my friends leg, and furthermore, the cat does not need to touch me for its dander to end up in my food and my throat to close. If itâs between your customers dying and telling the cat to move then... warning to all future customers is all I have to say. RIP. Worst service of my life, ruined my night, flavors not to die for. Not worth 80â¬. Do not recommend.Dear NatI'm deeply sorry for your unpleasant experience at our restaurant. Here at Iθάkα our main priority for the people who visit us is to feel welcome and we try always to provide them a great experience and beautiful memories to look back to. The cat which you are refering to in your review and were attacking it by hitting it with your napkin is adopted by the business, as we support and look after for the general but also medical care of homeless animals. This specific cat was abused in the past and it was with great difficulty that we managed to persuade her that she is safe at our place which is now her home. I kindly asked you not to hit her and took her away our of respect of your friend's medical condition. Even though I came back multiple times, you never requested to be moved indoors where there would be no interaction with any animal, homeless or not. As far as the food is concerned, we are sorry to hear you have not enjoyed it despite you finished all four dishes you were served. At Îθάkα, we are always willing to replace a dish that does not satisfy our customer's taste buds.

The best restaurant of Ios Island and one of the countryâs top choices for creative Greek cuisine. Grandmaâs, highly talented Executive Chef Alexandros Lepessis is well known for offering Greek and Mediterranean recipes with a cosmopolitan twist, . Caress
Good view. Terrible service. Average to poor food.I booked the ârestaurantâ months in advance, only to be informed I had a couch in the bar area in wind gusts of 45km. Yes he cannot help the wind I understand this, but the fact is this- I booked the restaurant and this was confirmed via email. I advised the manager I did not want, nor booked a seat at the bar area, he informed me there were no tables at the restaurant? Ok, we had no other option but to sit in the uncomfortable and cold wind (we literally had things flying off the tables)1) Starters arrive- honestly just go to a good Greek taverna. It was literally two pieces of pasta. Not terrible, but very poor considering the price tag.2) Mains arrive - with an outstanding delay after the starters, only to be informed of âtechnical difficultiesâ?. The only technical difficulty is this restaurant literally served two pieces of frozen fish which were tepid (at best). No explanation of what the âtechnical difficultiesâ were? This isnât good enough at 38 euros a main. 3) We have come back to our hotel at Island House for more food. Thank gosh for the beautiful souls at our hotel, I have a video of the manager arguing with me and my partner but I wonât stoop as low as to post this as Iâd like to stick with the facts. Which Iâve stated above. Removing emotion out of this review...This is an overpriced, terribly operated establishment. Please go to Salt, Drakos or any other restaurant in Ios. Iâm so sad to have wasted 114 euros and beyond the money fact, we are upset with how badly our last night turned out in Ios, we wanted to leave on a high but due to this restaurant we are both pretty upset and extremely dissatisfied.Dear SmithA1989, Thank you for choosing Grandmaâs Restaurant and for taking the time to share your experience online as your partner did. We are deeply sorry that you did not have the unique dining experience that so many guests repeating and otherwise have come to enjoy from Grandmaâs restaurant. Our goal is to provide a consistent experience to every guests dining at Grandmaâs The specific table we had reserved for you is one of the best tables in our restaurants and is very popular among couples that wish to celebrate a special occasion. It enjoys the best view and a sense of privacy. On that note when we saw your request to be seated at the edge of the pool, naturally we assumed that this was the best table for you. We will agree that the only disadvantage that the particular table has, is the lack of protection from the winds. However we cannot always foresee the weather accurately and usually the winds in the area die down in the evening. Unfortunately that was not the case on the evening of your dinner and to make matters even more difficult indeed the restaurant was at full capacity in terms of bookings. That is the reason we suggested you should cancel your booking and reschedule it for another evening, but you declined our suggestion and agreed to be seated. We are deeply sorry you were not happy with our food. Grandmaâs has been recently awarded with the highest national culinary award the âToques dâ Orâ. Our cuisine is praised online and offline. Grandmaâs restaurant is the only restaurant on the island that offers a unique dining experience in a truly exclusive setting. The online and offline feedback we receive speaks for itself. We do hope we have the opportunity in the future to welcome you back. We are confident you will have a vastly different experience. Kind regards, George Androulakis, Operations manager

Drakos is the seafood restaurant where you take ypur friends out for high qualtiy authentic Greek seafood. The price is higher because they serve freah catches.A couple of great recommendations:1. Kalamari - much tastier than what you can get in the USA2. Boiled greens - Unique wild green vegetables available only in Greecr3. Fresh fish by thse kilo - tell them to grill it juicy and not too dry.

A lovely, fairly cheap and cosy restaurant by the port of Ios. The staff is very friendly and musicians delight your ears with local music all night long. Food was absolutely delicious, in the restaurant there were more Greeks than foreign tourists so it must say something!

We visited here lots including using their loungers at the beach. The staff were exceptional, really really exceptional. The chap at the beach was 100% on it, the guy at the bar made fab cocktails and was hosting the bar as if it were his own and the restaurant staff were great too.The food was good, although we had better in other establishments, especially in the evening but overall it was good enough that we kept returning.A great place to spend a casual hour drinking or dining.
