Reviews on Seafood food in Messina, Province of Messina, Italy. At Sicily’s northeast tip, Messina is the first city being kicked by mainland Italy’s boot, just three miles across the Strait of Messina. It's a main port of entry for visitors via hydrofoils and ferries. Trains board the ferry, too, before continuing service. The 12th-century Norman cathedral, rebuilt after a 1908 earthquake destroyed it and much of the town, is the most famous attraction.

Japanese Restaurant-Catering
So happy to see some more "ethnic" food options in Sicily. Fresh authentic sushi in a cute little restaurant in the downtown area of Messina. A little on the pricey side, but comparable to other sushi restaurants. It seems to fill up quickly, so it would be wise to reserve a table ahead of time.

Had originally visited this place in the 70's with my parents. Just on tip of Sicily, at the mouth of the Straits of messina, 2 artificial lakes breed mussels and all around the lake a continuous line of restaurants. You order your spaghetti with mussels and the waiter crosses the street, into a boat, brings a bunch of mussels out of the lake and 20 minutes later they are on your table.Marvellous food, good wine, and beautiful scenery. You dont feel at all being in Sicily, it could be Miami. The prices are very reasonable. A meal for 2 the cost of 5 pints in Central London.

I had dinner to my friend Alessandro at the tavern "Ciauri and sapuri" and I felt like home in a frame of original furnishings arranged. I was greeted with cordiality by the whole team and after sitting down and seeing the menu, Cristina came to me and explained the dishes. The food is very fresh, starting with the appetizers, a mix of earth and sea. First courses are plentiful and the freshly caught fish, finally the dessert, which Cristina prepares with great dedication. This place wants to remember the tradition of Messina with traditional recipes revisited.Value for money average.Bye Ale see you soon.

Ok, so this is a city centre cafe/restaurant on a busy street in Messina and is never going to have ambitions to romantic alfresco dining. The food is the high point. My linguine with mussels and clams was great, my wifeâs salad of prosciutto, melon, mozzarella and rocket only being let down slightly by mediocre cheese. We both had Sicilian cassata, which is a completely different animal from the more commonly known Neapolitan version and was delicious. Service was a touch erratic but pulled through. 50⬠for two courses each, wine, water and tip felt a good deal to us.

Mediterranean Restaurant, open for lunch mon-sat from 12,30 PM to 3,00 PM and for dinner from 7,30 PM to 11,30 PM Sunday closed.
Just excellent! A wise and responsible choice of dishes to be administered with the right combinations. The wines, strictly Italian, complete the work in a restaurant in which - thanks to the sympathy of Peppe, owner and master of ceremonies - nothing is left to chance.

A convenient location and a cute decor. Service is very kind and helpful in choosing what to eat. The wine cellar has enough local choices so itâs interestingFood quality is decent!

A small (eight tables), cozy ristorìa. Apparently it is an offspring of the neighboring, excellent Durlindana restaurant.Decor: warm, contemporary and pretty much universal / soulless.Food: excellent (in my humble opinion). Short list, fresh ingredients, local, Sicilian (obviously!) inspirations. Nb. I had mostly seafood -- it was fresh and tastefully dominating. In sum: why not?!

We paid 16 euro for a small serving of seafood, raw tuna was excellent. Daughter had a toastie which was nice. The best were probably raw tuna sandwiches as we saw some people coming and ordering them without looking at the menu. The place was tiny.

Open every days. Day off Sunday
Awesome dishes served by friendly and competent staff. Had an excellent Charlotte de Aubergine and tuna, all utterly delicious! Tasted and looked way more expensive than it was (60⬠for 2 main dishes, one starter and 3 drinks), would recommend to everyone who is looking for modern but authentic cuisine.
