Overall a really nice relaxing atmosphere & the staff were very friendly and the service really couldnât have been better.Food was good well presented but I thought some dishes could have more depth of flavour especially the appetisers & 1 course & desert The main I had the duck which was probably the best duck I have ever tasted, the crispy skin was very sweet & maybe could have benefited from a little heat or salt I was expecting the best tiramisu I have it looked amazing but I think could have had a more intense flavour for meBut overall I would recommend this restaurant

Excellent restaurant, very romantic atmosphere, rich food and meticulous with excellent raw materials, eating Cheese Calzone with Artichoke and Tomato Frsoto best pasta I ever ate and locally with zucchini and arugula with a unique cheese everything was amazing!

What happens when your favourite grotto is fully booked?Together with 3 colleagues we planned a dinner around Lugano, but the restaurant we decided for was already fully booked.Gladly, among us, somebody heard good things about an interesting grotto located in Capolago. What a pleasant surprise!The restaurant is a typical old Grotto, with renovated interiors and a cozy veranda lying under old beautiful trees. The owner is an experienced cook (having worked at Grotto della Salute in Massagno) and an attentive host.Hangin by the entrance is the menu on a chalk board with prices, but the chef will tell you anything about the food, together with specialities of the day.Our group ordered a starter (if you order the main course they will suggest you a half portion): somebody picked up freshly made pastas while others delicious meat tortellis followed by guinea fowl, grilled tuna (a big chunk of it) and liver. Mi sono fermato per una pizza in questo locale con nuova gestione.Devo dire che la pizza non era niente di che, ma quella sera c'era tantissima gente (nei paraggi c'era una festa della musica) e quindi probabilmente non è giusto giudicare la qualità del servizio e del cibo in una giornata così particolare. Riproverò.

Lots of different seafood dishes, pizza, pasta and others.Great place for a sunday lunch with family or with friends for a quick pizza after a soccer match!Service is good and waitress always friendly!What makes this place special is the freshness of the seafood, from "crudité" to "linguini all'astice".

Carlinos Ristorante is walking distance from my favorite Hotel Garni Cento situated in the midst of central Chiasso right across the Italian border in Switzerland. Carlinos is a perfect destination for a relaxing and romantic evening or dinner out with the family. Serving specialty Italian pasta dishes and fantastic oven fired pizzas, I was delighted by the warm, welcoming staff. No one here spoke English but made every effort to accommodate our party. As an added bonus, there is an old fashioned pinball machine in one corner, which the locals refer to as "flipper"! This was my favorite restaurant in Switzerland. Carlinos in Chiasso is magnificent!!!!! Sent from my iPad

in Chiasso, the number of good restaurants is quite limited. Alchimia is definitely one of the very best. The quality of food is outstanding; fish and sea food in particular. Also the service is very professional and friendly. A big plus is also that they are open late and have a good choice of wines.

Walking in the old neighborhood of Mendrisio, I was attracted by this property because it was crowded; which I think is mostly a good sign.As the heading says, this restaurant offers a wide selection of pizzas. But I wanted to try other dishes.So I ordered an appetizer, a main course and a dessert: "Tomino" cheese baked with grilled zucchini; risotto with apples and Taleggio cheese; nougat parfait. Everything was good or very good (except perhaps that the risotto was a bit too much salty for my taste).The service was courteous. As I said, the restaurant was packed: in particular there were large groups of families with children, perhaps because they were celebrating the last school day. Then I was afraid of being neglected and wait a long time. In fact I didn't wait little, but not even too much; and in any case the waiter spontaneously kept me aware about the progress of my dishes (I think this form of customer focus is important).The price for the foods I mentioned, plus a glass of good local white wine, and a water bottle, was over 56 CHF. A normal price for Switzerland, then high for most of the other European countries. But this is common knowledge. In any case, I recommend this restaurant.

This is a delicious and friendly restaurant. The neighborhood is adorable with colorful and cute architecture. The restaurant is domed in brick with the owner/manager dressed in smart attire and the waiters in white and black. I found the people working here friendly and professional. The food is excellent. I ate simply for lunch only having a plate of tomatoes with a lovely vinegar/mustard dressing and tagliolini ai funghi porcini. Both were excellent. The porcini were so fresh and the tagliolini were homemade. The house merlot from Ticino was simply perfect.

It was recommended by our concierge and did not disappoint. Ample wine list we ordered octopus appetizer that was quite good and couldn't resist a pesto pasta dish and lasagne. All delicious. Lakeview dining with wonderful staff and a good meal. We had a lovely time.
