We visited Ceviche y Cocteles in 2013 before the establishment hit it big in the guidebooks and here on TA. We returned in June 2016 and our experience was less than pleasant. The owner of the establishment is an older woman who lords over the location with an iron fist and permanent frown. All transactions take place out of the purse welded to her side. If she doesn't care for you she'll do passive aggressive things such as move tables around to make it clear they aren't for you (which will then subsequently sit empty) and throw dishwater from washing fruits and vegetables on the ground near or under your table to get you to leave towards the end of the day. There are a lot of other locations within the square that serve good food to a more local clientele without the attitude and with a much friendlier vibe. If I were returning I'd put my guidebook down and skip ceviche y cocteles and head to the location right next door which serves authentic grilled meats and mondongo soups. Or, try a place at any of the other three buildings with restaurants.
