Not a fancy place, but has excellent dishes in a casual environment. The seafood gumbo and salad combo for $9.99 was a plentiful dish and real good. My wife had the shrimp tacos $12.99 and I don't know how she finished the three large ones. Excellent service.

We ate outside because it was a beautiful day. People were very friendly and service was good. The food didn’t live up to expectations. In my opinion the rolls were too big for the poboy and the grilled grouper sandwich. The grilled grouper was wonderful my poboy was a little dry. The home made ice tea was very good.

My wife and I found this restaurant by pure luck. The place we had intended to go is now closed so we looked on our GPS for a seafood restaurant. We were not disappointed. The staff consisted of a middle aged lady I presumed to be Maye and her younger male friend helping her. The were very friendly and accommodating. If you are in a big hurry then I would not advise you to eat here as the cooks take their time and really do the food up right! I had time to enjoy a couple of beers while we waited for supper and take in the quaint decor of the place. We each got a seafood platter and we were not disappointed. The quantity of the food was ample and the quality was as good as any I've ever had. I had a couple of beers and a sweet tea. My wife had a soda. We both had a large seafood platter. The bill came to around $50 plus tip. For this sort of food it was a fair price and the food was truly excellent. The next time I'm in the area I hope to visit Maye's again.
