We chose the Jolly Fisherman for our Valentine's Day celebration. Best decision ever! This cozy restaurant in the heart of Roslyn never disappoints. The venue is cheerful, the service excellent, staff quite helpful, and I haven't even gotten to the food yet. The restaurant does a luncheon special which includes an appetizer, choice entree, desert, coffee or tea. For the appetizer, entree and desert there are so many options to choose from that it's hard to decide. I started with a salad which is a meal in itself. So fresh and full of good veggies to get you started. I wasn't quite sure what I wanted as an entree but decided to try the shrimp, clams and scallops over linguine with tomato and basil sauce. Wow! This was absolutely the best! I'll definitely have that again. Since i was a bit filled by now I decided to try a lighter desert, rice pudding with whipped cream. Top everything off with a good cup or two of coffee and voila you've had one of the best meals you've had in a long time. For what you get prices are reasonable. I can't wait to return. The Jolly Fisherman has become my very favorite dining spot on Long Island.

If expectations were high, they quickly deflated. Requested a table next to window with a view, which we received. It was in the large room to the left side. Even though it was cool outside, very cold air was streaming down from the vent. We asked if they could turn the temperature up or stop the air flow. We asked five times. Action was only taken after two other tables began to complain. Appetizers/soup was quite good and brought out fairly quickly. But then we waited about another half hour for our entries. I ordered short rib, which had quite a bit of unrendered fat on it. Flavor was other very good. My wife had a seafood special, but the scallops were never properly cleaned and gritty with sand. The small molded rice that came with the dish was significantly undercooked. The same was true of the same dish delivered to my sister-in-law. Service was quite good and the waitress after hearing about the rice, brought out a bowl of rice which was cooked very nicely. Finally started to get comfortable, but that large room is also extremely noisy and we could hardly carry on a conversation.Summary: Very inconsistent quality of food preparation, comfort of guests not a priority. Food quality, if prepared or cooked correctly, quite good. And service, from our one example, was fine and attentive.Hi TroonDrinker. I had a fine dining Meetup of 8 people who tried your Greek Restaurant last night and people are still having about each Greek dish and dessert we ordered last night. Not only was each dish the tastiest ever (branzino, gelato, etc) but the staff were top notch catering to our every need! Bravo to the staff who made our evening absolutely joyful. You all take pride in your service and cooking. We will definitely return!

This visit to Crabtrees was our first since it opened. Mediterranean/American style is not my first choice for eating out. But to make the wife happy and our friend happy since it was her birthday and our 50th anniversary. The service is excellent with water being repeatedly refilled and the crumbs removed very quickly. The 1st thing that annoyed me was this pesky fly throughout the whole time we were at the table. No one is going take swats during a meal so I have no solution. The front door is constantly being opened. My 2nd problem (and I know it is my fault), was the vegetables. Each dish comes with mashed potato and a mix of vegetables like yellow and green zucchini, stringbeans, and pieces of broccoli(ugh) and some slices of beets (ugh 2).For starters our friend had the buratta salad and i shared the escargot with wifey. That came in the full shell on a plate of garlic sauce which is what makes this dish so good.For main course our friend had the darla's chicken, wife had the salmon and I had the porterhouse style 16 ounce pork chop. The chop was huge and covered with sauteed peppers and onions. The chop was very good but I probably would have been happier had I stuck with my first thought of getting 2 appetizers and a salad. I studied the menu and really wanted the calamari plate and the escargot with a salad.Appetizers and salads run from $11-15 while most main dishes run in the teens to 30+.When we arrived the place was not too filled but when we left on a Sunday nite , it was packed. If you are still hungry for dessert, get the gelato.

Each entree was delicious! Raves for the Roasted Corn Bisque, Filet Mignon and Halibut. Dessert was exceptional also. Give Thyme a try if your are looking for Diner dining with fabulous food. Tables are often set in dark corners, awkwardly arranged next to a staircase or opening doors. Walls are bare. Difficult to chat with your table guests because of noise intensity. Waiters are well meaning but unskilled at serving. Dinner plates were served by reaching across the table and our laps. Our table waited for water glasses to be filled and our drink order to be taken. We missed a more attentive staff and a relaxed atmosphere.

Place is a scene on a Thursday night. All absolutely beautiful people...must be singles scene. Very loud though. The lamb shank was really good. And the giaganta beans were really great. Great service. Always a good place, but Thursdays are packed. Fun people watching

Excellent portions.....beautiful sides.....food prepared perfectly with style and verve!What a blessing.....the Ancient Greeks are smiling, and they are proud!As they should be....Danny, the Captain, is a consummate restaurant professional: friendly, smart, warm, helpful. Unusual person, and huge asset to the firm.My only regret is that Trip Advisor does not have a Six Star Rating. Limani is, indeed, over the top. We are fortunate to have them!
