Had a dinner meal with friends on a weekday and place was very busy. We were able to have a nice corner booth. Decor is comfortable and our server was good. We all had steak. My salad was good but all side dishes were a bit on the small side - adequate for me but perhaps not someone so is quite hungry. Plus- although the meat was cooked as I like it as was flavorful, side dishes could use a little work. Price was reasonable. Would try again before deciding if this would be a regular spot to eat at. (Have gotten take out burgers since this evening upon recommendation of others - OK but nothing to rave about!)

Nice addition to Leland restaurants. We went here today for lunch and was served up tasty fresh baskets of seafood. The portion sizes are smallish, but I really appreciated that they had good side options besides fries (although my husband's fries were hot and good). Although there was an mistake on my husband's order (served fish and shrimp instead of choice of fish and oyster), it was corrected very quickly and with a smile. Service was top-rate and the food good. We'll be back again soon.

On the Riverwalk in Historic Downtown, The George Restaurant is Wilmington's only Downtown restaurant with a private dock for boating customers. Relax and enjoy riverfront lunch and dinner with breathtaking views. Southern Coastal Cuisine, fresh local sea
The restaurant is right on the river. We ate outside on the deck with the overhead fans. It was lovely. The staff was friendly and attentive. We had the balsamic grouper with brown butter, mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. It was well prepared. Our only quibble is that the portions of fish are a bit small.

Stopped into the Shuckin' Shack for a late lunch returning from Carolina Beach. We picked one of two tables on the sidewalk. Our server was there to take our drink order quickly. We ordered our food and it was served as ordered. Everything ordered looked very good. Raw Oysters, Steamed Shrimp, a Crab Cake Sandwich, and Fried Shrimp and Oysters. We all thoroughly enjoyed our lunch. I would recommend this place to anyone who likes fresh Oysters and Shrimp. There were vegetarian items on the menu.

We went to Elijah's this past Friday evening with another couple...as we each heard great things about the restaurant and we wanted to try it.The location is directly off the water...and has an excellent location with great views...the building is a very old, and very charming, older type building with many features you normally do not see today...just very charming, simple and yet elegant. We could not make a reservation as they require a party of 8 or more for reservations however we were told not to worry...it is a slower time of the year. When we arrived...we were very surprised the restaurant was almost empty...there was only one other table of 8 and a table of 2 in this large restaurant and one table of 2 on the outside patio...on a Friday evening! It was October...not the dead of winter.Either way, we got a nice table by the window. Our serve was Caitlin and she was extremely friendly and very attentive.I ordered the Red Chowder as a soup (exceptional) and one member of our party ordered the salad (nice salad) and the two others including my wife ordered the Elijah Chowder...all excellent. We then ordered our dinners.I ordered the Special...Pork Chop with Bone In. The server did a great job explaining the dish and its preparation however it was no-where as great as she claimed. The meat was tender yet the taste was lacking and the serving side was OK...lets put it this way...no leftovers. I have been to upscale restaurant before...and every time Bone In Pork Chops are usually much larger...and much...much tastier. The rice and vegetables were excellent. If we come back...and if it is available again...I would not order it.My wife ordered the Snapper...and truly enjoyed it. She said it was cooker perfectly but again...not anything special with taste. The couple we were with...The husband ordered the Prime Rib (KING) as the server raved about it. First, the KING size is only 10 oz and the Queen size is 8 oz...that is small compared to most upscale restaurants. When dinner arrived and I saw the size of the portion...i was extremely surprised (did not say anything)...and it did not look overly appetizing! As he cut it...he was extremely unhappy...lots of gristle and fat. The waitress was quick to offer alternatives...which he took her up on. Our friends do not complain however the Prime Rib looked so bad he had to get something different. He did get the Pasta with Scallops and Scrimp and although he did not say...I think he was much happier (even though he was eating while the three of us were already finished with our dinner/no fault of his). His wife ordered the scrimp with scallops however since she does not eat scallops, when she ordered the server was happy to replace the scallops with additional scrimp. The scrimp were average size...not large but average. Her dinner was very good yet she did not say anything exceptional about her dinner. The restaurant was almost empty (just as we were leaving another table of 2 came in) and it was very cold inside. We requested the raise the thermostat three times earlier..as we were freezing...finally as we were about 20 minutes from leaving (finishing up) it started to warm up.We were expecting so much more...not sure if it was an "off" night for the kitchen however the food was average...and that may explain, if this occurs often where there was a limited number of customers. Many reviews were excellent so just not sure if the kitchen is inconsistent or just a bad night. Not sure yet if we will give it another try...as there are so many other places in the area...yet I do want to say...about 6 months ago (just before we moved into the area) we did dine at their sister restaurant (The Pilot House) and it was much better.

Such an unassuming place. Love the authentic feel. The Turkish/Mediterranean food is absolutely delicious. You can feel the heart and soul that has been put into each dish that you eat. The Kofte kebabs are soooooo juicy and delicious. Why does the rice taste so good?? Everything on the plate compliments each other so well (ie vegetables and shepherd salad) and the sauce they serve with the kebabs is so freaking delicious we had to order another. Also, so cool that they serve Turkish wine. I think they only sell it by the bottle, but so affordable. My husband and I have only tried the white and it was delightful. We will be back to try one of the red Turkish wines!

Celebrated a colleague's birthday here. This was our first visit. Menu is a bit scary with prices and a foodie's description of food. Shared a salad which was unique in flavors but very nice. Ceylon ice tea was a real treat. Catfish is the house specialty and I can understand why{ very well presented and reasonably priced. Grits and okra were a very good accompaniment. Salt and pepper are not on the table but should be especially with grits. WARNING! Do not season the food before tasting it.

If you're in the Wilmington/Leland area know that CRAB is King. Crab Cakes are my favorite yet there are many other delicious offerings on the menu like Jumbalaya or Shrimp and Grits. Whether for lunch or dinner the service is excellent and you can reserve through One Table too.
