The Mag is a Leesburg, Florida locals bar founded in 1954. Boasting a reputation catering to crowds ranging from rowdy bikers to laid back land lubbers, If these walls could talk, the foul mouthed slurs would be considered nothing short of piracy!!! Now-a
We decided to meet some friends for Tuesday night shrimp specail. One suggestion is not to go with a big group. We had ordered 6 specials one for each person at the table. Well it took long time and then we got served 2 people at a time. A lady who claimed to be a manager was rude! She was mean. Even to other customers. Shrimp came out soggy and over cooked. Shrimp were small. There was so much water at the bottom of the plate. The manager "Rita" even told me they don't have regular sugar for tea. Really! Our Male server was the only good thing about the place! Rita had a sour attitude!

We had a chance to visit with friends, who had been there before. We got there around 1:30 PM and took advantage of their combo lunches with two sides, Hushpuppies are included and coleslaw was fresh, fries were hot, sweet potato delcious, portions were huge. With 4 meals and 4 soft drinks we came in at $52 total.

Saturday night approx 5:30pm waiting for dinner. Fire alarm goes off and all staff just standing looking at each other. My server disappears. You are left wondering if an emergency ..... she comes out nervous looking and says someone opened a back door by mistake. Then the fun begins. For almost an hour the alarm goes off for a few minutes and then off, then back on. The server says sheâs afraid to come out to talk to us because she doesnât know what to do. $36 for a crab legs dinner that I ended up taking home in a box. She apologizes when she comes with the bill saying the Manager is busy so she is not able to talk to him about the bill. How can you have customers there for almost an hour and have your staff in that position. I know the alarm going off was unexpected. however, there should be a plan in place so staff knows what to do. There should also be some lead personnel that could have made concessions of some sort for guests who endured the horrifically loud alarms. The one by me was located 5â away. The crab legs were good. I havenât been to a Red Lobster for approx. 30 years. Based on the experience at this location, I donât intend to go back.Hi, WishingWest.
