First of all, the main picture on this page is out of date. La Sardina is now the smartest looking of the beachfront restaurants in La Herradura. It looks quite a formal, starchy place, but looks can be deceptive. It's a friendly, informal, good value place - probably the best on the beach of this lovely resort. Our waiter was fun and friendly, the food was decent - the seafood paella was delightful although the baby squid could have been served with a little salad accompaniment. The bill was also a pleasant surprise. Excellent, all round.

An authentic cerveceria-restaurant, locals like it and also tourist for the special and simple menus, also excellent seafood as fresh fish; also nice tapas (starters), the cerveceria is the best, you must not forget it, and you will return next time.

A must to try is the House Salad, a very special combination of flavours! The menu has many options and all are excellent as the owners work the restaurant, Emilio is front of the house and his lovely wife Lourdes is the chef. A huge bonus is that they are open all day long.

The hostess is great with clear details of all specials ( I had Turbot) and speaks several languages. we had good company, good wine and good food finished with a complimentary liqueur. well priced for a tourist area.,

In a very attractive setting â that of the Herradura or Horseshoe beach (although the beach itself is not top-quality as the sand is rough), this is one of the posher bar-restaurants in what is a fairly under-developed resort.When I say that although it is on the beach, the tables have tablecloths for lunch, youâll see what I mean!Poshish and popular â on a Sunday in early March every single table, every single one, was reserved for lunch when we dropped in at 11-ish for a drink.Good lavatories â always an important factor.A very nice place for a drink or a meal â which we couldnât have as there was no table for us â but the carta looked inviting, and the total-reservation was a good sign that others thought so too.

I found this restaurant on TA. Just opened when we arrived so grabbed a seat. Ordered two drinks and fish Tapas arrived. We then ordered fresh mullet and one more drink when linguini tapas were placed before us. Service was good with only one man behind the bar. When we were leaving around 9.30 pm the place was packed even spilling out onto the street. Good typical Spanish tapas bar. Everyone must go when in town.

Really good Spanish-Mediterranean food! Had lobster, solomillo de ternera and solomillo de pato. Nice wines as well. Right in between chiringuito and fine dining. Nice premises, nice ambience. A good mix of classy, cosy and lively. Were here for a long lunch on a rainy and windy Sunday and could still sit âoutsideâ in the heated tent type of thing. Staff was very attentive and friendly. Recommend!

Due to complaints the live music evenings and flamenco shows in Las Maravillas have unfortunately been stopped by the local Police. The same applies to the other bars and restaurants in La Herradura where live music was amplified. Apparently acoustic music, without micophones or amplification, is allowed but nobody seems to like this option. Whether this will change in the future remains to be seen.We have always found the food in Maravillas to be on the good side rather than exceptional. The menu del dia is always good value and I recommend you go for the dishes that have to be cooked fresh.There have ben a few reviews lately commenting on the waiter service. Truth be told it can be a bit hit and miss.Tapas are always served with your drinks and are normally very good and good sized portions.....bearing in mind they are free and served at the discretion of the bar.

La Gaviota has been modernized on the outside, and the location is still good. But we went there for the essentials, namely good food and good service. Both seems to have been forgotten. We were served lukewarm and mediocre dishes by a very slow and unattentive woman. They must improve their act substantially before we go there again
