had one 29.50 euro meal and one 24 euro meal both were very good. The little head waiter was so surly almost a caricature that we laughed at him.the other staff were lovely. Would certainly return. The view probably was the best bit of the evening
We were staying at the hotel itself and decided to try the restaurant for dinner, and were pleased that we did. The food was very good and in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere, with good efficient service. We were able to have our (well-behaved) dog with us during the meal. My partner had escalope de dinde which was very tasty and my meal (fish) was very enjoyable. It was also very reasonably priced. The hotel also does breakfasts and the 'serveur' for this was very efficient, helpful and friendly. The generous breakfast consisted of croissants, baguette, jams etc and in addition one can request ham and cheeses, yoghurt, eggs etc, with juices and coffee.

L'Amiral is an excellent seafood restaurant (there is also the attached brasserie), with first-rate service. There are plenty of options on the menu and the prices for the food and drinks are reasonable. The location is excellent, right on the port. Popular with local people and visitors. Best to book.

We've visited Belem based on Tripadvisor ratings. All in all, food was pretty good. The restaurant was pretty filled, they had to refuse customers, but mostly because it became too windy on the terrace to serve people there.Unfortunately, we had chosen to sit on the terrace (the weather was quite nice when we arrived). During the evening, a cold wind started to blow. As a result, we were getting stone cold, with no place inside.Obviously, that's not the restaurant fault. However, we waited FOREVER for our food. First course arrived quite quickly, but we waited over two hours for our next course. Two. Hours... Everyone (and I mean everyone) around us was getting their food, including people that arrived much, much later (we were there at opening time). Meanwhile, temperature was getting colder and colder. To make things worse, two of the waitresses were clearly frustrated/mad about something (I guess some clients), and started to loudly comment on them between each other. Never seen this in a restaurant. I totally get that some clients are ..., but please do not discuss this front of other customers. It completely ruined our experience. As said, food was good (my lobster was EXCELLENT), others said their dishes were just above par. But service seriously lacks.

We (6 adults) had a most delicious and filling meal here in early July this year. Portion sizes are a good size so you won't go hungry. Very attentive and polite service. The restaurant is just as able in its traditional French dishes as it is with Breton seafood specials. Has an extensive menu offering the best of the local seafood. Our favourites were the Moules Breton; Moules Gruyere; and the seafood soup (which was v rich!). Highly recommended.

Booked in advance on a meal on a Saturday night - advisable in the main season as those without reservations were turned away. Friendly, helpful staff with good English. We had the sardines pate and cooked crab starters that were both delicious, one of the nicest turbot dished we have eaten in a creamy sauce served with rice and vegetables and a clever paella with the prawns on a skewer followed by very yummy mixed desserts. Service was efficient with no long waits and a nice relaxed vibe with families of all ages eating. getting the bill and paying was a bit of a trial but overall a very enjoyable experience. Not cheap, but still very good value.

This seafood restaurant serves a variety of tasty dishes, including daily specials. The location is inside the Ville Close, but inside the restaurant feels like a real escape. The first-rate staff are among the most welcoming, friendly and helpful that I have encountered. The food and drink prices are reasonable. This is a popular place with locals and visitors, so it's a good idea to book, although I did manage to get a table as it opened in the evening.thank you for your comments that encourage the whole team Vauban LA DIRECTION

We didn't actually eat here but stopped for a cider after a longish walk. View from the terrace is good and you are away from the traffic of the village. Shame we couldn't try the seafood but menu looked delicious.
