Great restaurant, just inside the campsite but open to all. The welcome and service were impeccable, and the terrace lovely ! The charming English speaking waiter made our choice from the interesting menu much easier, and I was delighted to find vegetarian options. Well done for using locally sourced ingredients, and changing the menu every few days to use what's available. We had a wonderful time, and will certainly be back for more !

Restaurant terrace has outstanding views. The service was good and the staff responded quickly to a large number of clients arriving unreserved. We chose two plats and two desserts which were well presented and cooked. Overall though the food is a bit disappointing, lacking that little bit of flair.

We were revisiting this cafe after a gap of several years and were looking forward to enjoying the interesting view, after a long bike ride. However, we arrived at the end of the lunch time period (approximately 15.00 hours) and were completely ignored by the staff for approximately 15 minutes so we left. There was no eye contact to show our presence had been registered and certainly no regret expressed at keeping us waiting and an intention to be with us soon. Don't bother to go somewhere where the staff can be so rude.

"Sylvie et Dominique" is not really a restaurant, but an oyster farm with degustation facility -- nothing very posh: a sequence of tents with plastic tables underneath. But service is friendly and attentive. The specialty is églades (see pictures), a board with mussels arranged in rows or circles, which are cooked, or should I say flambéed under a bed of pine needles, and thus stewed in their own juice and given an additional taste of pine (and a bit of ashes). A very different taste from the "moules" one samples in Lille, Ostend or on the Atlantic coast. One comes out of the experience with dirty hands (not clothes, as guests are thoughtfully provided with plastic aprons), but an outdoor washbasin with a nailbrush allows one to scrub one's black hands afterwards. For who is scared by the experience, other seafood (oysters, clams, ...) are served as well, all in very good taste, with a dry wine from the Oléron Island itself.

A rather bland, unmemorable lunch. I had oysters followed by sardines. My bugbear is when oysters are served with broken shells in them, which was the case here. The sardines lacked flavour, which was completely swamped by the tastes of the vegetables - mashed potatoes and spinach. The presentation of the food was equally bland and unimaginative. There are better, more hardworking restaurants in La Cotiniere.

Basic but happy resto in the heart of La Cottinière : Correctly priced fresh food with friendly service, a must do when in the neighbourhood.

I have nothing but praise for this lovely quayside restaurant which I have visited with my husband on many occasions. Staff are always friendly, attentive and efficient. All the meals we have enjoyed have been excellent and I would not hesitate to recommend it. Whether indoors or on the exterior patio, it is a delightful location to dine.

We were visiting the Ile d'Oléron for the second time and decided to try this restaurant because of its convenient location right in the heart of the Cotinière. Our server, Maryline, was very friendly and smiley, instantly making us feel welcome. The food did not disappoint, either. I had the curry moules frites (very generous on the sauce!) and my husband had the sampler platter with a variety of different seafood options. We enjoyed our meal so much that we went back again with friends for lunch the next day!Dear Sir, dear Madam,A big thank you for taking the time to write these few words,I will not fail to share your feedback with Marilyne and kitchen teams. We thank you sincerely.Looking forward to seeing you again in our restaurant,Sincerely.

Good fish but not well prepared, too greasy and oily. In my opinion far too expensive for what it is. Drinks are also tricky, "bière: demi 4â¬" literally "beer: half" surprisingly turns out to be a tiny 25cl. If you really want 50cl be ready to pay 7â¬bonjour en france le demi = 25 cl pas une arnaque une loi!!!mr vexer a pas su comprendre ça du coup déçu sur tout pas cool pour un beau maigre cuit au beurre échalote dans l'assiette la valeur d'une demi cuillère de beurre avec ses échalotes,?dur la vie de critique culinaire!!
