Art centers showcase the traditional dance, Kathakali. European influences are seen in the 16th-century Portuguese-built churches and forts, while the mark of early Chinese traders is visible in the unusual fishing nets dotting the shoreline.

A short walk from the Chinese fishing nets on Mahatma Gandhi beach, there are some lovely waterfront views from this hotel restaurant (open to non guests) - as we hadn't booked, we sat closer to the entrance (though still outside) than on the overwater section although it wasn't full, but still got the benefit of the breeze and watching the boats pass. The food was fantastic - Keralan fish curry and fish molee, as well as parotta, plus there was alcohol-free beer as well as soft drinks (like most places in Kochi, there's no alcohol license but this made a change if you wanted something which wasn't too sweet). Service was friendly and helpful, and any minor issues were quickly sorted out.A lovely spot to enjoy traditional Keralan food, whether you make the most of the daytime views or the lights after dark.

We were looking for a seafood meal and this place fitted the bill.Four of us shared excellent meals at a very reasonable price.Certainly not top end dining but spicy, interesting seafood with good service. We were not disappointed.

We came to Kochin a few years ago and found this delightful place, so when we knew we were coming back to Kochin we couldn't wait to eat here again. Aroma is the most charming hostess and a truly accomplished cook - her coconut prawns are the best we've ever had. We had a cooking lesson with her and she was patient and helpful -- then we got to eat our creations! We can't wait to come here again. Every dish we have tried is simply divine.

I have eaten in the Old Harbour Hotel's restaurant several times. The food is very well prepared specially the pasta and the salads. The desserts are also very fine surprises like the cardamom pana cotta and the chocolate ice cream and chocolate cake. The garden is the best place to eat in the evening because there are no mosquitos and is very fresh. You can eat by the swimming pool and the beautiful lights with the shape of stars that are on the trees of this garden.

Back after more than four years and despite a new chef the food is as excellent as ever.We started with small appetizers which were in fact quite large. A big masala jumbo prawn which was very juicy. A whole soft shell crab, very crispy. And a mini dosa stuffed with crab.Quite full we enjoyed the lightness of a crab and coconut soup with some candied ginger. A must try. Then the main was an assortment of a spicy prawn curry served with Appam, a scallop moilee with Malabar parathas (served burning hot) and a wonderful local sea bass cooked in a banana leaf, perfectly served but quite spicy. As it is the season we ended this beautiful lunch with a mango trilogy. A cheese cake, a tart and a wonderful home made ice cream.Service was discreet and excellent.A good choice of wines and spirit which is a challenge in Kerala.
