While we were staying in Nags Head my family surprised me with a birthday dinner from Outer Banks Boil from Kitty Hawk, NC. Marcus prepared the full boiled dinner in our driveway while we all watched, then served it in our kitchen - fantastic lobster tails, crab legs, clams, shrimp, sausage, potatoes, corn on the cob! What a feast - one of my grandsons is now a lobster lover! Marcus was prompt, professional and friendly - in less than an hour he fed 19 of us. Highly recommend this dinner - better than going to a restaurant!

We chose this restaurant because we had eaten at a lot of fast food places during our visit. We were at the Outer Banks for our wedding anniversary trip. Another reason this particular restaurant was chosen was because my husband wanted a steak and this was very close to our motel. When we got to the restaurant we noticed a sign on the door to wait to be seated. We entered and waited - and waited - and waited. There were three employees standing at the Hostess Station and another at the gift shop. No one greeted us. The three employees conversed and when I could stand it no longer I approached a few steps and my husband grabbed my arm (not smart and I told him so when we were finally seated) and proceeded to tell me that we were supposed to wait (like I didn't see the sign on the door and at the Hostess Station. I turned to him and said loudly that I do see the sign and I just wanted to step closer so that they could see us since obviously they didn't see us at the door. Well, we were finally acknowledged and seated. I had a Dr, Pepper and that was the only part of my meal that I didn't like. I ordered Prime Rib - medium rare and it was perfect. The mashed potatoes were delicious and the string beans were perfect. My husband changed his mind about the steak and got spare ribs that he said were good but that mine were better. I did have some of his ribs and they were good. My husband just likes saucier ribs. I was surprised that he liked the potatoes because he likes them creamier but he had no complaints. We ordered dessert and I had mine to go. They were pretty good although we don't think that my husband's was what he ordered. My husband wasn't offered more coffee so he wasn't too happy. That is how he gauges what type of tip is left. I was offered and got more soda. The Dr. Pepper didn't improve.

Visited Hurricane Mo's for a live music event on the deck. I enjoyed the good food and reasonably priced drinks. The place also has a nice inside dining area. The staff was amazing. Although very busy they were very good! I'll be back when I visit Outer Banks.

Apparently in the fall Monday is fried chicken night. I asked our server and apparently 75+% of the meals are the fried chicken. The chicken was fried marvelously, very crispy but very moist inside. Collard greens were exceptional. Garlic mashed and corn bread were good. Both of us had the chicken and we both enjoyed it. Our friends who live in the area say everyone knows of fried chicken so donât plan meetings for Mondayâs. Have been there in past years but never for chicken but I encourage a visit anytime!

Part of a small chain, Coastal Provisions offers an extensive fresh seafood menu. It also has a decent beer selection and extensive wine list. You simply browse the ample wine selection throughout the restaurant/store and the waiter will do the serving at no extra cost beyond the bottle price. With seven people, our table received excellent and attentive service. I highly recommend this restaurant and provisions store if you happen to visit the OBX.

Specializing in exquisite and refreshing island cuisine in a classy yet casual tropical ambience, Barefoot Bernie's Tropical Grill & Bar has become a true destination on the Outer Banks restaurant circuit.
We stopped in to Barefoot Bernie's basically on a whim. We were trying to go to the place next door but the wait was too long. There were about 6 of us and we found a spot at the bar together. Our bartender was a bit salty in the absolute best kind of way. She had us laughing the whole time and was completely on top of it with keeping us with drinks and recommending stuff. We ordered some apps and had a few drinks and it ended up being a surprisingly good time. We are very happy that the place next door was too busy.
