Everyone told us that Giovanni's was the best shrimp on North Shore. They are pretty good but we thought Romy's was better. Cooking the shrimp with the heads on gives them so much more flavor. They were plump and juicy and cooked to perfection. They maybe could have cleaned them a bit better - not all of our shrimp had the vein removed but most did. Still, it's a small thing that doesn't affect the flavor too much. There is often a wait but it seems like they are getting better and quicker in their preparation. They also do not claim to be a fast food restaurant. Just a good food restaurant. All of the North Shore shrimp shacks are CASH ONLY. Be prepared.

If you're heading up to the North Shore you should definitely stop by kahuku shrimp and Thai food truck. The shrimp and rice is unbelievable and a reasonable price. Plenty of space to spread out and eat.

There are two Gio Shrimp up in the north, we went to this one, there is another one at the town of Haleiwa. Not really sure which one is the original? We choose this one because we are fans of Terrace house and they went to this one. Best garlic shrimp ever, well worth the drive up to the north for this. We did get there around 5pm so there really wasn't a line up there only one group infront of us, we got our shrimp in less than 5 minutes. The next day we pass by Haleiwa and there was a line up of at least 30 people around noon. Go when its a bit later on in the day. Even if there is a line up, the shrimp itself is awesome, but it might dampers your enjoyment having to wait 30 minutes in a food truck for shrimp. PS: like every other review say, just go with the scampi, don't bother with the others.

We went here once while staying at Turtle Bay. It's a great spot to watch the sunset (unfortunately we missed it - too late). The service is very pleasant without being overbearing. The food was absolutely delicious. If it hadn't been so expensive, we would have gone there more than once.Certainly worth going once if you are staying at the resort.

Spent three nights at Turtle Bay, ate at Lei Leiâs one night mainly out of convenience of location.Good decision. Our server, Anna, was awesome. She made great recommendations from drinks, to appetizer, to entree, to dessert. My wife was extremely happy with all of the suggestions as was I.Food was top notch. My only suggestion to the restaurant is to make outside seating available to couples... we were extremely disappointed when we were basically turned down by the hostess for outside seating. The place wasnât full by any means so I would think management would do a little table rearranging to satisfy a customer. We took an inside table. It all worked out, Anna save your butts!

Took the Bus out to Turtle Beach. It use to be a Hilton, now itâs not. Ventured down to Royâs Place ... on the beach, under âpinkâ umbrellas. The reception staff were very disorganised.. people who arrived after us, were seated before us... girls, you need to get your act together. Had a lovely table, overlooking the beach cove so....Obviously, Mai Tai for starters.. Our lunch consisted of 3 starters.... calamari, which was not a tender as it could have been $12, crab cakes, missing a dynamic flavour $12 and a childhood hatred... Brussel Sprouts..$10. I have tried them throughout the years and always disliked them. However, the chef here achieved a milestone.... for that reason.. i have given Royâs Place a higher rating. I ate a meal of Brussel Sprouts (I wanted to say just BS, but though better)... I truly liked these...Chef thank you.

This place was great and friendly, we were visiting a friend in Hawaii and we came upon this place and we sat down and ate steak and eggs. OMG the steak melted in my mouth, and the gentlemen came out and talked with us and gave us a loaf of bread that was out of this world. We game back every day that we were there to eat. They gave us chocolate/rice drink that went very well with your meal or by itself. I tried to find out how the bread was made, but thats a Hawaiian Secrete. I just finished the last of the bread here in Florida and my friends asked me where I got it, Hawaii. They cook with their heart, and do a good job. Enjoy your meal and the company. You too will brag :-)

This place was crazy bad on service.First... this place wasnât busy, yet it took 30 minutes to get food ordered. Second... the server at the window kept on disappearing. Although we didnât say anything, others in the queue were very vocal in their disapproval.Third... they took the order wrong. We ordered a Spencer with fries, drink, salad and veggie with fries and salad. This is what we repeated back to the server. What arrived was a Shem burger _without_ fries. Wrong burger. The restaurants error and they REFUSED TO PUT IT RIGHT. âI am not the managerâ is not an excuse - find the manager. âYou can stand in line and order your friesâ is also not acceptable when the queue is 30 minutes long. The correct way is you bring out the missing order.Itâs a shame we canât take the tip back, because we certainly didnât get the service or food we requested.Bottom line ... we would not go back. Just not worth it.

Oh man, wow. The fish is incredible. Poke seemed kind of strange when I first heard about it but it's so delicious, and this food truck has some excellent poke. We also had marlin on tacos and man, it's so good. It's incredible. Great choice. Of course, all of the food trucks here have something great to offer.
