Reviews on Seafood food in Ishigaki, Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The water around Ishigaki is pure blue, with white sandy beaches to soothe your senses. But don't just stand on the beach and stare. Travelers recommend a ride in a glass-bottomed boat to gaze at the coral reefs and tropical fish from above.

What a treat to get a nice, RARE, tuna steak in Japan! This was panko covered and fried. But it was not over cooked. And, outside of Tokyo, thatâs like finding a unicorn.Apps (tapas, on the menu) were good too.Service with a smile.

Was recommended to try this place...and so happy we did even though it was a little smoky and noisy with the locals seated around the bar area. The sashimi mixed plate was excellent.Better quality than Hitoshi across the street for what we chose. Also for those with Internet access there is a coupon available for 1 free dish...we got some deep fried local fish.Would definitely go again if staying in Ishigaki.

A relaxed can-do place with a mixture of European and Japanese-style tables to sit at.Extensive menu with generous 'set' meals, sashimi, sushi, salad, rice, miso etc. The salad with local, fresh tofu, and sesame dressing was my favourite. I also tried fermented tofu for the first time. It was like blue cheese. Fascinating!Good drinks available, swift service and a reasonable price. A solid dinner option in beautiful Kabira.

I used this shop for lunch before I crossed to Iriomote Island. This shop sells sashimi (sliced raw fish) and seafood tempura (it is one of Japanese dish that seafood have been battered and deep fried). In addition, the shop also sells draft beer besides canned beer. You can buy full packed of sasimi at JPY 500.There are several tables outside the shop, it is best to drink sashimi and draft beer while watching Ishigaki port.Because rice is also sold, even people who do not drink can use lunch.

Didn't expect too much coming in but to our surprise, everything was very good! We came as a family of 4, ordered small sashimi set, Ishigaki beef sushi, mixed roll, bitter melon fried egg, cheese dumplings, chicken ramen, and a grilled welk. Starters were a couple of prawns with thousand island dressing, they do charge an extra 300 per head for those. Nothing disappointed us! Will come back to this restaurant again. It's quiet, no advanced booking required. Highly recommend this place :)

Delicious and fantastic value! English menu was very much appreciated. Sashimi platter was the best I've had so far in Okinawa Prefecture. Nice to have a change from the ubiquitous tuna/salmon/prawn/omelette combo. Same can be said of the tempura which had a perfectly light batter and used locally sourced vegetables. Ishigaki beef was cooked exactly right and was full of flavour. Overall an amazing dining experience. Well worth the walk away from the tourist strip. Highly recommended !!

The location is just a few steps from the covered shopping street (aka, Ishigaki Mall), and a short walk from the port terminal. The menu centers on Okinawa specialties, including local beef and pork dishes, udon (fatter noddles than ramen, but thinner than mainland udon), and vegetable dishes highlighting Okinawa's signature vegie, goya, or bitter gourd. The cooking isn't exceptional, but quick, inexpensive, and the service friendly. The menu isn't translated, but there are photos illustrating each item.

Then you would like add other dishes, I recommend you the sushi of Ishigaki beef, and fried rice with calamari ink.But again, you should taste the sashimimori first, because that's the highlight here, and that should be tasted when you are hungry. You can eat the slice of Chinese radish and seaweeds which could be a good substitute for a salad!

I really wanted to hate this place! Itâs too noisy on the phone to make reservation. Theyâre serving endangered species. Itâs full of tourists. But everything was off the hook. So good itâs ridiculous. Seriously donât go, theyâre getting a swelled head.
