Stumpknockers on The Square

We were seated quickly, service was average for a lazy afternoon. Ambience is nautical themed. Blackened Grouper Reuben was decent - do not expect sauerkraut in this sandwich, they put coleslaw in it instead. Do not bother with the conch fritters - there are great fritters out there - Stumpknocker conch fritters are average. The coconut chicken tenders salad was very good! All in all, Stumpknockers is average at best, there are a lot of other places in the area to try!

Cedar River Seafood

I can officially breathe a sigh of seafood relief; I have found a beacon of light! A clean, comfy atmosphere, great, friendly and helpful service, wine and beer service and wonderful food. My friend and I stopped in for a presumably light lunch but ended up ordering more because everything sounded so good. Starting with a vat of sweet tea and one of lemonade to remedy the sweltering afternoon heat, we ordered blackened scallops, fried clams and broiled scallops with sides of baby limas, fried okra, french fries and hush puppies. Oh my goodness- the meals arrived in short order, each bite better than the last. The baby limas were heaven in a dish, savory with pork seasoning yet light. Crunchy sweet corn hushpuppies, seasoned fries and perfect okra. My additional highlight was the bottles of tartar and cocktail sauces on the table. I am a huge user of each and it's both annoying and embarrassing to bother the waitress for the amounts I like to use if they are in the usual small plastic containers or packs. We were informed of the many all-you-can-eat specials for the various days of the week and plan on our return feast. What a pleasant place!

Fishermans Resaturant

We were told that this restaurant was the best for seafood in our area and that it was a Traditional "Old Florida" Roadside Restaurant. We can confirm that it is a "Traditional Old Florida Roadside Restaurant" - however, not the best seafood in our area. Two of our party of four had the crab cake dinner and thought the cakes were "over-breaded" and somewhat tasteless. I had the blackened Grouper which was satisfactory and another in our group had the shrimp and scallops dinner and said it was very good. The dinners were served with a choice of potato, three tiny hush puppies, and about 1/3 cup of cole slaw. Our total bill was over $130.00. The servers were very good and generally took care of us. On a bazaar note, our server brought our checks before we had finished dinner and told us that if we wanted to add a gratuity, their card process center could not handle it (yeah right) and that the tip would have to be cash. So, even if you use a card to pay for the meal, you will have to offer cash for any tip. All said, it was a 20 - 25 minute drive to get there and not worth another visit.
