Find out what Seafood restaurants to try in Ilha Grande. So close to Rio de Janeiro, yet so different, Ilha Grande is Brazil’s relaxing, undeveloped paradise. Stepping off the ferry to the island is to disconnect from the outside world. No cars, no banks (bring your money!), no ringing phones. It’s all about relaxing in the sun, sailing, swimming, disappearing into spas and reemerging for fresh seafood at one of the 30 small restaurants.

A friend of mine and went there for lunch and had the freshest fish and wonderful vegetables. The service was good and the place was friendly.

Lots of seafood choices, went for the grilled fish fillet. Generous portion of fish served with roast potatoes, rice and a varied salad. More than plenty of food for the price. Service was good, staff friendly, great atmosphere. Quite a wait for food but I don't mind that at all when food is so delicious and cooked to perfection!

Restaurant over the beach, relaxing enviroment with candle lights and live brasilian music. Speciality in seafood.
The location is nice at the beach with live good music but the food was not really anything good, we had grilled fish with shrimps and potatoes but the shrimps were baked too long and it was nothing really special. We expected more.

In a very unassuming kiosk at the south end of the front in Abraão, marked by the funky multicoloured plastic pretzel chairs and Bon Jovi blaring out of the stereo, Maurice will make you - will CREATE you - the best caipirinha on the island. Now obviously Iâve not been to every place on Ilha Grande that makes the ubiquitous drink, but over four days Iâve been to a good few and this really stood out. Ice smashed by hand - check! Loads of diced lime - check! Top quality cachaça - check! Shaken and poured at your table by Maurice with the ice ratio carefully checked - uh, check! It even came with a very progressive metal straw; not only nicer to drink through but better for the islandâs beautiful sea that weâve all been enjoying. Throw in a couple of gratis bellinis (vegetarian at our request), friendly service, and a praia side spot where the returning passeio boats drop you off, and you have the perfect liquid refreshment place. Maurice even flicked Jon Bon over to Freddie and the rest of his Queen cohorts when the New Jersey rockerâs crooning got a bit much.

This is one of a string of restaurants on the beach just outside the center of town that don't actually have addresses (as far as I know). Others of its ilk are included in major guide books, like Foder's. I'd really like to give this restaurant a review
Whether you want a place to grab a coffee, beer or get a great meal this the place to. Literally right on the ocean with awesome views. The staff there is extremly friendly and attentive. We spent hours there just taking in the views and having great conversations with new friends.

Local roots. French touch. Authentic food. A kitchen focused on the "back to basics" philosophy of cooking, using local ingredients. A weekly Seafood and Vegetarian menu, both 3 courses. Experience exquisite flavours combinated with an unique location, ac
We had Jardin salad bowls with sweet potato fries. Really delicious and a good change from the rather overwhelming Brazilian buffet often encountered. The burgers (veggie options available) looked amazing too. The service was super friendly. The proprietor spoke some English. It's a must visit option on the island.

Greeted by a friendly staff, you choose your table right on the beach with great music in the background. In our case we had a live musicien that haded to the lovely atmosphere. The cocktails are amazing and the food delicious. Thumbs up for a menu also in english and french!

After seeing the reviews for Dom Mario's, we decided to give it a try. The portions, like many Brazilian Restaurants, are huge. We ended up having our leftovers for lunch the next day. The price is as fair as any place on the island as well. The service was excellent. The mosquitoes were pretty bad when we were there because of fresh rains, but the wait staff was kind enough to give us spray. Otherwise, everything was just perfect. We really enjoyed the steak and different potato dishes.

Beach bar and restaurant in Ilha Grande, with a good diversity of grills, meats, salads, seafood, vegetarian food, drinks and special beers. An excellent vibe with live music. Come and enjoy it!
Lovely setting with tables on the beach & more seating inside. We were drawn to this place because of the beer selection especially the IPA'S, which were great! Cute friendly dogs sit on the sand with you by the sea. Resturants either side seemed to be busier than steak & beach but I couldn't really understand why as this place is far superior. Also the staff are amazing, very attentive. We came back a few times. Would definitely recommend and return if I was ever on the island again.

The restaurant Refúgio das Caravelas, is located in the middle of the mangrove, a rustic and pleasant environment. Payments with cards, checks and money. We have some very different dishes like: Fish with banana grilled, Fish with banana cooked. Barbecued
It is not a dinner spot, more lunch or late lunch. Even though we were the last guest at 5pm we were served a delicious grilled anchova in banana leaves, cooked to perfection. The stuff is not overly attentive, not english speaking, but very friendly. They organised a taxi boat for us once we were done with dinner.Thank you for the compliments, and I'm glad you enjoyed it, I hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again.Check back often.
