What do Private Fraser and Sergeant Wilson from "Dads Army", Rene and Yvette from "'Allo, 'allo", Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery have in common? They are all featured on the front of The Lobster in the centre of Sheringham. While my wife was shopping, as this pub isdog friendly, I called in for a coffee. It was just before lunch time but there were hardly any customers and no atmosphere. The service was OK but that was all, Whilst the paintings on the outside are great, the "garden" seating area needs some attention

What a gem! The food is amazing and the freshness shines through. The light bites are great for sharing with the squid being our favourite. Portion sizes are generous and served with a great salad. Certain areas aren't dog friendly so best to check when booking. You can cut across the field from the restaurant and have a lovely walk along the clifftop. The expresso panacotta was perfect!

Two seniors came across this small fish and chip shop, with it's adjoining restaurant by chance. What a superb find. The menu is clear and concise, and once your meal has been ordered, it appears at lightening speed. The quality of the fish is second to none, and the pricing very fair. How pleasant to find that your sauces are in actual bottles, and not wretched sachets. This is certainly one of those establishments that we would search out again.

A delightful evening for my partner's birthday. The chef/patron, Colin, is a very enthusiastic host and an excellent chefThe baked crab starter was super and I should have ordered the starter portion of moules instead of the main course - struggled manfully on until the bowl was almost empty.

I try to get thre once a year. It is rough and ready, super sea-food, large portions and has its own special atmosphere. [I note what a previous person said, and she is clearly the wrong person to go there. I am sure there must still be a Berni Inn operating somewhere that she would like]It is one of those special places that people should visit once in their lives. Try to get a table with a sea view.

We have visited The Anchor on many occasions. Each time our reception is friendly, helpful and the service is efficient. Pleasant surroundings and a good atmosphere. The food is well presented and we all enjoyed our different choices. Good range of drinks on offer. The Anchor generally has an outdoor dining/drinking area and is in a lovely situation between Blakeney and Morston Quay. Very well worth a visit.

I am baffled why, when visiting Blakeney at least ten times a year we have never bothered to visit the Moorings. Well we made up for it this week having a light lunch there on three consecutive days. There are 50 covers and quite a big kitchen to cater for them and at lunch times it was only half full but we certainly weren't kept waiting. We had two different waitresses over our three visits and both were friendly and efficient.Mrs Tripper 1941 had a great crab sandwich on day 1 while i had smoked salmon on avocado salad. Due to huge breakfasts at our hotel and larger dinners we eat lightly at lunch time and both selected the starter size. The next day I went for the roasted goats cheese on avocado salad and Mrs T went for the ham hock salad. We both had the goats cheese on the third day and the balsamic vinegar added something extra and we will be back for more on the next visit. There are alcoholic drinks available and prices for everything are reasonable. Apparently there can be quite an atmosphere in the evenings. Well worth a try.Tip the steps up from the street are of blue engineering bricks and the tread is not very wide. Perfectly safe but use a bit of caution to prevent an accident.
