Discovered this place 3 years ago so we had to go back again. Definitely not disappointed, the food is amazing, great service. No complaints about the view or the service. The food though was average, the menu limited and not great value. My chicken penne pasta with Santorini cherry tomatoes sounded great but was just boiled pasta with a small amount of tomato sauce, cheese and a few small pieces of chicken. We went to this restaurant to have a dinner and enjoy the sunset. Both were an excellent experience! Food is really fresh and restaurant has a lovely decoration. Definitely worth of a taxi ride (or a walk). Tip: if you want to enjoy the sunset, book a table before hand to get the best view.

Had an excellent family dinner at this gem (4 Adults and 5 Kids under 10). The seafood choices were plentiful and food was excellent. Our favorites were Grilled Calamari, Grilled Octopus, Grilled Mullets, and Grilled Sea Bass. Kids enjoyed a Rissotto with Shrimp and also had pork souvlakia. Excellent location at the sea front by the port area. One of many seafood restaurants. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had the seafood soup, shrimps and fried calamari, washed down with chilled white wine. The welcome appetiser was beautifully presented.

Paralia is located on the seafront of Heraklion, and is well known for its seafood. We had marinated sardines, snails and fresh tuna. Unfortunately, the tuna was a bit salty, but the snails were very good, and this was the only place where I ate snails which are very popular in Crete. The waiter was very entertaining.

Keep it simple,keep it fresh. Seems to work here with a solid fish soup then swordfish steak.Great array of desserts and lashings of white wine. Prompt service and very good quality.Remarkable coincidence but an absolutely identical menu both in layout and comprehensive content given to us in a dedicated fish restaurant in Concon,Chile earlier this year. Truly weird !

After having some not so nice experience in Heraklion we tried Maxim, based on the reviews here. We were not disappointed. As appetizer we had mussels saganaki, a huge plate with mussels and vegetables covered with melted cheese. Main course was a traditional dish made of lamb, delicious as well. 2 persons shared 1 portion of each since we wanted to try more than one plate, and it was actually too much! Portions are big. Even if we were full, the server brought us fruits and raki on the house, very good option for desert.
