The freshest ingredients sourced from the best local suppliers. A relaxed, waterside atmosphere where you can sit back and relax. Service that's memorable for all the right reasons. At Amelies, Porthleven and sister company Gourmet Picnics we share the sa
We popped into Amelieâs on the off chance, arriving just as it opened for lunch. With the choice of any table, we were able to sit in the semi-open conservatory overlooking the harbour, having a really enjoyable informal meal as the restaurant busily started to fill. Our only criticism was of constant attempts at up-selling .... were we sure we didnât want a âwhile you waitâ if we werenât having a starter, âstill or sparking?â when we asked for water (tap, was the option we wanted), and âwould you like the monkfish added to the curry?â Apart from that, whilst not necessarily the most memorable meal weâve ever had, weâd have no hesitation to return.

With fantastic harbour views, our restaurant in Porthleven offers sharing boards of local and seasonal produce all inspired by Rick's travels as well as mains such as Singapore chilli crab, fresh fish and rib eye steak.
Building light and airy with a very pleasant vibe. Advance booking made highlighting a dairy free requirement for one person in the party. A menu had been marked what would be suitable but had to initiate discussion of what could be modified - which felt more difficult than it needed to be for a restaurant of this calibre. Very disappointing no milk alternatives for a coffee after lunch - most small cafes carry these days. Having said that lunch was enjoyed by all and we would go back when in that area again.

The Top Chippy is a family business owned & run by Norman/Vicky and their son Aaron Green who are all local to the area. Being from Cornwall we try and use local produce as much as we possibly can. we try our best to save the planet by using only sustaina
A little walk up from the harbour, this is the place to go for fish and chips.Reason, they cook to order, so its moist and also tasty. Take your food down to the harbour to eat them, perfect. There is another chippy where I have bought very dry fish in the past, declining to eat it and gave it to a dog to chew, it might still be masticating on it.Top Chippy, top food, top service too.

Eating in the bar offers simple classic food, such as Scotch eggs, Buttermilk chicken & avocado burger, Cornish steak sandwich, or a stunning Porthleven crab salad. Henlys serves an array of fresh, flavoursome dishes, from Seared Scallops sourced just up
Me and the misses have been coming here for months and have never had a bad meal. The Ginger chap behind the gave us exceptional service. Followed by the best burger in TOWN by far which blows boo koos out of the water. The misses is a vegetarian for her sins and henlys catered for her with ease. This bar/restaurant is a nice chilled out venue were if you need to wind down and eat well this is the place to come in helston.Wow! Thank you for this amazing review! We can't take all the credit, our butchers C&E Retallack's supply us with the best quality burgers which are just as outstanding as their amazing steaks (sorry Vegetarian misses!)We hope to have the pleasure to keep welcoming you back!

Kota Kai occupies the whole of the top floor of Celtic House and has unbeatable views across Porthleven harbour and beyond. Almost every table in the restaurant benefits from these views as the tables run alongside the many windows at the front of the bui
Booked into Kota Kai as a treat on the last night of our holiday in Porthleven. Duck / Crab Bao Buns as starters, followed by the Cornish Feather Blade Steak / Massaman Curry which were both absolutely delicious. Finished off with Rhubarb Cheesecake / Coconut Panna Cotta with a Mango sorbet which went down a treat.Top food and great service. Definitely recommended.

We are an independent family run restaurant, specialising in pizza, pasta and seafood. All freshly cooked to order.
Have been here for lunch several times and always delighted to find a choice of items on the menu for vegetarians. The food is lovely, hot and well presented. I love looking at all the fascinating, old, black and white photographs on the wall. Waitress was lovely too. Can't wait to go again.

A great evening in a beautiful restaurant with a great ambience.Great local food. We enjoyed the pork belly and steak. As a group we tried a variety of desserts including the brownie, ginger pudding, creme brulee and the chesse board. All were first class.Lovely to be offered the local Cornish gin.

What an amazing find of a restaurant tucked away in a small Cornish village. This is London quality food and service in a charming location over looking the harbour. There were two fantastically priced set menus to choose from, with some flexibility between the two menus.Four of us had a fantastic evening with the most amazing food cooked to perfection. My friend was particularly impressed with the blue cheese ice cream.Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Located within the picturesque harbour of Porthleven, open from 10 am for Breakfast, lunch & dinner. Recently featured in 'The Times' for top places for Breakfast! Extensive Fish Board, locally sourced from the harbour, excellent Cornish meats selected by
Had eaten here in 2016 so booked for this holiday with slight trepidation because of the change of ownership earlier this year.....unfounded!Still fantastic! Cucumber water on arrival with rosemary foccacia and vegetable crisps, so glad the new owners have retained some of the excellent touches.Between the four of us we had, chowder, scallops, trio of fish, steak, cod and mushroom risotto, everything was spot on, absolutely delicious! My one, slight, moan is that the desserts seemed a little lacklustre, so much so that none of us ordered any which is highly unusual for our group That said, it will be our first call on our next trip to Cornwall
