Reviews on Seafood food in Hartbeespoort, Madibeng, North-West Province. Hartbeespoort, informally also known as "Harties", is a small resort town in the North West Province of South Africa, situated on slopes of the Magaliesberg mountain and the banks of the Hartbeespoort Dam. The name of the town means "gateway of the hartbees" (a species of antelope) in Afrikaans. It was previously known as Schoemansville, named after General Hendrik Schoeman, a Boer General in the Anglo-Boer War, who owned the farm that the Hartbeespoort Dam was built on.

I visited Ocean Basket after they moved from Village Mall Hartbeespoort. Sushi was nothing outstanding. Rice over cooked and sashimi portions undersized. Service was very slow even though the restaurant did not have many patrons. John Dory's is their competition and have much better service and choice at the Mall. Also attractive daily specials.

Spoil your family & eat out at White Water Spur. We are the best steakhouse & burger restaurant in Hartbeespoort. Bring along your kids for some great tasting food & dessert from our famous Spur menu.
My wife and I visited this Spur on 1st May 2018.After waiting for over 30 minutes for a starter in a quiet time of the day we were told that the food would be ready in 2 minutes. 15 minutes later the mushrooms and calamari were served cold, and were also told that the main course was ready and could they serve it now? When the barely tasted cold starters were taken away the main course was served. The hamburger pattys were dried, leathery and cold, the mushroom sauce was like cold wallpaper paste. The chips were 50% raw and 50% cold.My wife'ssteak was however acceptable. We feltthat we should let the manager know as if no one tells you the problem then you cannot correct it. To his credit, the extremely likeable manager was sad to hear of our experience and could not do enough to placate us and offer to recompense us in some way. Great manager was perfect in this situation. We shall try again in a few weeks as we are spur regulars.Dear N3182LJchrisc,Thank you for taking the time to review our White Water Spur Restaurant. We're so sorry to hear that this was your experience. That certainly doesn't sound like the level of service & food quality we pride ourselves on.If you would like to discuss this further, please forward this on together with your contact details to [email protected] and we'll get in touch with you. Kind regards, Spur Steak Ranches

Terrible food. Ordered the prawn curry and it came as a lukewarm, watery mess. The prawns themselves were shriveled, rubbery and smelt awful. Typical frozen seafood. And at R180, the meal left me very disappointed. My wife was exposed to a similar disaster with her pasta meal. âFreshâ should not be used to describe their food. Also, while we were there the manager and another couple at another table got into a fight regarding the food. STAY AWAY! The other 5 star reviews of this place seem to be BS in my opinion. Plenty of other good restaurants to enjoy in Harties.

De Vette Mossel (The Fat Mussel) offers much more than perfectly prepared seafood â this is an experience â in unusual and informal surroundings with traditional Cape fishing culture â in true West Coast Style.
I try to go there every time i am having holidays in South Africa, the concept is excellent : huge safe place with sandy ground, typical south african menu from the beginning till the end (mossels, fish stew, meat stew, cooked sisters, etc...), you gonna love it ! You can bring your own drinks but they have also a full licensed bar.The hosts Neels and Annette are really great with all customers. Like the south africans say : enjoy a lekker kuier at de Vette Mossel in Harties ! Ompile,Thank you very much for the "lekker kuier" here at de Vette Mossel at Harties. We know this is not your first visit to us and see forward to your next visit. Thank you for supporting the Bokke in their World Cup game .You and your wife are great people !!Regards.
