We had a great visit to this brand new restaurant in Port Arthur. TheGrilled Boudin quesadillas were awesome. They make their own boudin, laid in a flour or corn tortilla, pour their tasty queso on and grill in butter. They have great queso. We also tried the blackened gator tacos and they we excellent. Not to be taken lightly, the margaritas will definitely call us back. Music on Wed thru Sat.starting at 6.
More of a take out place. Menu is fried catfish, shrimp, and oysters. I came for the oysters and didn't finish them. They smelled and tasted 'fishy' and were probably not fresh. The drinks are warm cans of soda. They do give you a cup of ice. Avoid.
I live here in Southeast Texas, and we have great seafood available year round. I have eaten here for at least 7 years, but it seems the busier the place becomes, the customer service become worse. Missing items and wrong orders, not to mention the long wait while your order cooks, but when THEY get the order wrong and me it is MY fault. I draw the line. So if you want okay seafood eat here, but be prepared to eat whatever they give you. For GOOD seafood try Sartin's or the Schooner or there is another seafood deli on Nederland Ave. Linn, the cashier I dealt with today was so rude that Bruce's has lost one regular customer, but they don't seem to be that worried about it.

I stopped in for dinner this week, and opted for the boiled shrimp. They came with new potatoes, and corn. The flavor was great, and the staff provided some spicy dipping sauce that gave an added kick to the flavor. My friend opted for the chicken and sausage gumbo. It had great flavor, with a dark roux base. We added a slice of chocolate cake, and a bread pudding for dessert, both were very good. They also have BBQ, hamburgers, and other options, not just seafood.

I can always rely on The Schooner serving fresh and excellently prepared seafood. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because the decor is a little old, but The Schooner is very good and very reliable. I'm not sure about the handicap accessibility as far as details are concerned but my husband is on a walker and sometimes a wheelchair and he had no problems.

If you like seafood and open air dining this place can't be beat. You won't stumble on it, it is off the beaten path. But make the extra effort and you will be pleasantly entertained and fed.

Live music and cold beer weâre at the top of our agenda. Bartender was super friendly and accommodating. We checked out the buffet, but decided against it. It was a lot of fried food and some gloopy looking pasta. Carb lovers dream! :) Good menu selection.
