Things to do in Greenwich
Came to dinner based on many recommendations as the "hot" new place in Greenwich and was greatly disappointed. Nice lively atmosphere but the food is average at best and expensive for what you get...chicken over polenta with oversized lettuce salad was decent but $24? Grilled japanese peppers were plentiful, overcooked and spicy but $15?Shrimp & Chorizo chowder had a nice taste for $17 had a few baby shrimp and no chorizo I could find, though lots of croutons. Asparagus were overcooked, likely already made and just heated up. Seems like a bar scene and there was dancing late Saturday night....but avoid eating dinner there as there are much better choices in Greenwich!
After picking up our dry cleaning at Mason Cleaners we saw this smoked fish new cafe and take out joint was open. We wandered in an were nicely greeted and treated to fresh samples of various types of smoked salmon, and fish salads. Everything was amazingly delicious. Way better than Fairway and Citarella. I took home some hand sliced Nova, Baked Salmon and Smoked Salmon salad. Glad we checked out this place, definitely now my go-to place for smoked fish!
If you like al fresco dining or evening cocktails, this is the latest hot spot on Greenwich Avenue. This is the former location of Sundown Saloon but with new owners and a completely different menu, it has taken on a whole new upscale experience. We sat by the open slider doors, which made for a lovely evening meal allowing the fresh breezes in. The blue color palate of the interior design is cool and inviting. The menu is inspired by Mediterranean cuisine. We found the ingredients to be fresh, especially the grilled octopus, which can be rubbery and chewy if not properly prepared or if not recently sourced. The artichoke salad was crisp and flavorful with a delicate dressing, not overpowering, which allowed the flavors of the greens to come through. The apple tart and expresso nugget gelato were freshly made and delicious. If you enjoy cocktails, try the watermelon mojito made from the actual fruit. The wine list is generous. The staff was friendly and attentive as well as impeccably and cleanly dressed.

Lâescale achieves perfection in many categories. First off, location adjacent to Delamar Hotel in Greenwich offers in and outdoor dining and imbibing. Valet parking is available and professionally executed. Secondly, the decor is pleasing to the air and spacious with several different venues indoors and out. This is the place to be in Greenwich and locals and visitors flock here. Then there is the service....we were fortunate to have Juan leading the team providing expert and cordial service to our large group. He was attentive without being intrusive and made our meal memorable. His service was absolutely perfect from start to finish. And then there is the food....out of our party of eight with varied selections, everyone said their selection was perfect and best they ever had. This in unprecedented in years of reviewing dining establishments. Bravo! Iâll be back!!

Had 3 different types of oysters for a total of 18 and most were flavorless and 4 still had shell in them....what happened to the Elm Street Oyster House? Used to be good for oysters and now not...server was also a bit rude on a very quiet afternoon with only two other tables. Clam chowder was good

We go a few times a year, usually a drink and snack at the bar. Today it was the pizza. The wood oven gives the crust a light char and the toppings were great. Sitting at the bar, service is always great.
