My first time at this restaurant. I was nervous reading the mixed reviews. I came on a Sunday and the food was delicious and fresh! Shalimar and our waitress Patricia were wonderful and made us feel at home with their great personalities. I will definitely be back!
Top 4 Diner food in Goldsboro, North Carolina, United States
My husband and I were very excited to try the Vailhouse Oyster Bar and Grille when we heard of the restaurant opening. It is conveniently located in town. We loved the rustic interior decor with lots of the wood and metal taken from old buildings in the area. The staff were friendly and attentive. They offer beer and wine selections. The menu is primarily seafood. My husband ordered the lobster roll and fries and I had the peel and eat shrimp with Old Bay. They bring hush puppies to the table to start. I didnât try them but my husband said they were undercooked and âdoughyâ. My husband was disappointed with his sandwich which he states was 1 to 4 filling to bread ratio and the fries were undercooked. My shrimp were large, cooked well and tasty. Definitely not a repeatable meal for us. Very disappointed.

Being from the Midwest, we werenât familiar with a âCrab Boilâ, which is seafood steamed with veggies in a buttery, mildly spicy sauce. It was delicious!! Everything tasted so fresh and we thoroughly enjoyed our food, which was reasonably priced for ample portions. Service was prompt and food arrived quickly. Highly recommended!!
