Stari Kastel: the enthusiastic reviews you are getting are WELL DESERVED ! Thank you, StariKastel chef and whole team for making this an unforgettable birthday evening. Gourmet food and wine presented and explained professionally by most competent waiter Alex; smooth and never-too-loud jazz vibes in the background, spectactular panorama sunset. You guys are the best. Somewhat pricey, if you choose the ingenious 5- or 7-dish menus with wine accompaignment, but it's well worth it. Astarea is family owned restaurant, specialized for fish and meat.Owner is taking the orders and his wife is preparing dish at the grill.Very pleasent restaurant with great atmosphere, it was full (there was several tables with friends and others with couples).We decided to try the fish, so we have taken for a starter, mixed plate with little bit of everything (octopus salat, bakalar pate, anchovies). It was very tasty. After this we has âriba ispod pekeâ and the main dish was really great (little bit of salt was missing, but this is easy to repair). We have taken also salat and we were drinking home wine. All in all, great dinner for 210hrk per person. When you count all things we have eaten, i would say that there was good ratio between price and service.

Food and service were okay but not more than that. Service was polite. The restaurant was very crowded during peak hours which made it noisy and not too cozy.Okay for one visit but would most probably not come back.

Oh wait! There is something missing! This beautiful place should get at least 6 stars!The atmosphere was very homely, however with beautiful artwork in the newly renovated restaurant. The renovation was done in an innovative and signature style! The reception and service was cordial, so I felt at home immediately!Great cocktails! I had a refreshing gingery tasting drink that I had to reorder!The food was just simply out of this world! I have not eaten such good food for years!Watching the gifted and ingenious chef preparing the beautiful dishes was a treat! Each detail was meticulously and perfectly executed by the chef! The taste was even better! Everything was prepared freshly and with great passion and love! Great usage of spices! Loved the avocado and nectarine salad with fresh figs! What a great combination! The spices made the Aubergine tartar so special! The Portion of the lamb chops was huge! What a beautiful sight! The chops were cooked to perfection and tasted heavenly!The main dish was followed by a Devine dessert: a warm nut tart with homemade ice cream! I hope I can come back soon to enjoy more of this wonderful food! Snjezana and Thomas are a great Team! I wish them all the very best! I came for a good meal and found the best food in years and met friends!

We where 12 people 6 kids and 6 adults.. once the ordering of food was done the kids went out to enjoyed the attached "zoo" and the adults enjoyed the cozy atmosphere in the restaurant, the service was impeccable and food was fresh and delicious.even the kids meal where og a high standard..Would recommend all to book a table at this place if they are in the neighborhood.

The building is beautiful, shining clean, amazing views, the ambiance is just perfect. We were kindly greeted by the staff, and taken to our table. We ordered a four-course degustation menu. All the dishes are freshly made and delicious. There are about six dishes in the first course, then pasta, then two beef steaks, and then two desserts including a lovely gluten-free cake. In total, we ate about ten dishes and all of them unforgettable. The server was superb. He was there for us all the time. We have not felt waiting or searching for him not even for a moment. Financial-wise: The four-course degustation menu is more than worth the money. We were more than full and the cost is not even high for what we got. The champagnes are not expensive either: 72 for a bottle of Clicquot in a good restaurant is a more-than-fair price. Hisa Torkla made our evening unforgettable. We will come back to Torkla for sure but it will be hard for them to beat that night.

We visit this place for late lunch. When we entered the place was full, but they find us a small free table. Staff is very polite and friendly. The food was nice, specially home made pasta and we also like seafood salad and small stuffed chili with anchovy. They definitely can improve open red wine.

Last night I was dining in this restaurant and had such a good time. First of all the personal is very fast and friendly, next the ambient is very homey and make you feel welcome and relax. Food is amazing, all compliment to the chef! Very tasty in a good proportion you definitely will not stay hungry. The prices are low especially for such a high quality restaurant. All and all excellent restaurant lot of positive vibes and I will definitely make my way back there.
