Wanted to visit here as had seen it on TV. Airy building with interesting decoration. Our party was five adults and three small dogs. We all piled in and got sat down. Waitress came over to chat, supply menus and say hello to the dogs. We had a variety of different fish option, mackerel, skate wing, huss, cod etc, of course chip or garlin chips. Orders placed we awaited our food and were not disappointed, lovely chips and fish that was good quality and well cooked. Served in a box was different but as explained in a small building with not a large amount of storage space flat pack boxes take less space than stacks of plates and serve both in-house and takeaway options. We had some local bread as well. All of the party enjoyed the meal (the dogs got a broken sausage between them with excellent waitress service included). Certainly not the cheapest but still most enjoyable and would return if we were back this way again.

Had a trip to Folkestone last Sunday fancied some fresh crab.Bobs had claws but no fresh whole crabs so opted for a dressed crab at £6.50. Walked round the corner found fresh whole crabs at Chummys bought one at £4.50 "lady opened the crab prior to buying to show the inside was mud free".Prepared the fresh crab then made some sandwiches with both the crab "meats" the Bobs crab to be quite honest tasted like paste? plus the shell the meat was encased in was white BLEACHED?However Chummys crab was very tasty. My tip would be if you know how to dress a crab I would opt for a whole crab that way you know its just meat not stuff like breadcrumbs!

Cantilevered over Folkestone Harbour with panoramic floor to ceiling views out over the English channel. The heart and soul of Rocksalt are our menus, served in both the stunning restaurant area and the bar on the first floor, both of which are complete w
We were looking for a special place to go to celebrate our 20 year anniversary. Rocksalt did not disappoint. The food was amazing, we shared oysters to start then king prawns and I had venison which was cooked to perfection. We finished with a chocolate desert which was absolutely superb. The location is amazing overlooking the harbour and we were kept entertained by the seagulls. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was so good that we felt that we were the only ones there. The staff were attentive and very professional and they clearly loved working there. Rocksalt - youâve got everything so right. Thank you for a wonderful and memorable lunch, weâll definitely be back soon. Many thanks for your lovely review, we will pass your comments on to the team and we sincerely hope to see you again soon! The Rocksalt Team

We stopped in Folkestone for the night earlier this week prior to taking the euroshuttle to France. We wanted some fish and chips for our dinner as we often do when at the seaside. We opted for Papa's as it wasn't far from our hotel. We ordered a large cod, a battered sausage and chips and shared them between our family of 5. The portions were generous and the food was super tasty and given the seal of approval from our 3 kids. Would recommend.
