The Doña Gamba at the El Faro complex has undoubtely a great location to enjoy the view of the marina and the river while you have your lunch or dinner. But for an enjoyable evening youâd need good service and good food, too, and at least we didnât get that that night. The service staff didnât smile once while taking the order, bringing the food, clearing the table or bringing the cheque. We werenât asked how the food was. Well, speaking of it: not bad, but nothing to write home about either. The tuna with garlic was a rather dry story, but still tasted ok, the gambas a la plancha were good. The patatas bravas were too boring and drowned in a slightly hot uninspired ketchup-mayo-sauce. In my opinion they didnât have anything to do with the well executed version of that Spanish dish. The fried Chocos were ok again and the fried eggplant with sugarcane syrup were too sweet (too much syrup and too little eggplant ratio). If the service had been nice Iâd still given 4 stars for a pleasant evening in a beautiful location, but as it was, we left with the slightly bad feeling that we ended up in a tourist trap that exploits their good fortune to be in a prime spot.

Had a long leisurely lunch here. We had mixed paella for 6 people. Which was delicious. Staff were great, house wine excellent

Enjoy Our Homemade Food On The Riverside. Seafood, Meat And Fish, Grilled Vegetables, Paella, Little & Big Snails Of Own Elaboration
Having eaten in most of the restaurants in the fishing village in the last 4 visits, this is our personal treat. We love the food and service here and stunned that it is not further up the list. We had wine, beer, several tapas and were there for two hours and it got us 50 euros. The two of us and our 6 year old. The waitress was incredibly friendly and recommended some excellent dishes that we were not disappointed with. Honest, open and homely. A great family restaurant.

Lovely location, friendly staff. Not much English spoken but not a problem. We all enjoyed our meal here but very few non-fish options. Nice to eat later in the evening after a couple of pre-dinner drinks at the nearby cafe bars. Not bad value and good fresh produce, this was one of the busier restaurants even in low season.

We enjoyed this incredibly busy, noisy, humming restaurant enormously. The windows have refrigerated shelves displaying some of the exciting clams, goose barnacles, whelks, lobster, crayfish, oysters and prawns of all shapes, sized and colours ... in short it was the best meal we've had in Lisbon.

The food here is reasonably priced and delicious. It is family run, typical food of the area and I eat here frequently and they have always served delicious home cooked food. I recommend their home made albóndigas de chocos they are delicious - I have tried everything on their menu - other restaurants in the area may be elegant but this one wins hands down for quality and flavour. You have to know the menu to pick well but the waiters are helpful and will guide you. Try it- it's reasonable and I guarantee you will go back!

Went here lat night for a bite to eat with my father. Ordered the tomato & goats cheese salad, croquetas and the Arroz de Marisco. Everything was very nice. House Red wine was also very good. Service was polite and friendly. We'll definitely be back again.

Not far away from portugal and with a beautiful view, you will find Dona Gamba, a small tapas restaurant where you can eat fresh fried fish and patatras bravas (fried slices of potatoes with hot sauce). The view and the food is fresh and excellent and the staff very helpful and friendly. We will go again. Try boquerones ( fried fresh anchovies), they are amazing!

The food was so good we came here two nights running. Excellent service and nicely furnished, the food was beautifully cooked. We had tomato salad with onions and tuna, followed by corvina (local fish) and creme bruilee. The standard of the cooking was excellent, simple yet tasty.Would definitely return.
