A local chippy that does the usual fayre, generous portions of chips always given with the option of batter bits. Fish fillets of cod or haddock which are cooked to order and are large. English - Pukka pies, battered and plain sausages, fishcake, potato fritter and battered black pudding.Others - pizza which are thick crust and very generous on the toppings. Extensive Chinese menu and the kebabs are ace. Recommended

Lovely place to come for fish and chips. Clean, modern and the staff are friendly at the Wollaton branch. Always cooked fresh to order which makes everything on the menu really fresh and hot. An extensive menu to choose from and the smaller portions are also really filling like the fish, chips and peas with batter bits about just under £5 and for the battered sausages you usually get two so plenty to eat. At the front of the shop which is new is a fridge with drinks, salads, desserts and dips to take away. So simple you pay, get your receipt with a number on and wait while they cook, then they shout out your number. Donât forget to ask for the batter bits as amazing over your chips.

I called for a take-a-way at about 6pm,very disapointed with the fish and chips. chips were not fresh and the fish was small (payed for a large) and dry again as though it had been kept warm for a long time, will not be visiting again!

Weve been to the Thorn Tree many times and have always enjoyed the meals weve had. Our meal yesterday was lovely except for my daughters chicken dinner when the chicken came out pink inside. We sent it back and an alternative meal was given in its place which she enjoyed. The staff are always lovely and I always find them welcoming and will do whatever they can to make your visit a good experience. It would be nice to have an alternative to chips or sweet potatoes chips, like new potatoes or a jacket and I'd personally like the option of a non fried fish that say came with a lemon and parsley sauce but that's just a personal choice..Highly recommended x
