Today we decided to try out an A La Carte lunch after a very disappointing dinner last night. A chance to redeem our view of terribly poor service, slow seating, slow order taking, slow arrival of food, and a mediocre meal. Hm.. unfortunately, today was not any better. My hot meal took so long to come to the table, and we were two of only six people in the restaurant, so there was no excuse that they were busy, but the steamed vegetables and the grilled chicken were all ALMOST luke-warm. ALMOST. We were halfway through our meals when the waitress popped up to ask if our meal was fabulous. Really? This place needs a good management shakeup! While the staff were all friendly, the overall impression is of a very loose system. Staff chatting to one another with no eye contact with guests. There’s no evidence anywhere of Management checking on staff, or customer satisfaction. Retraining is really needed here as individual friendliness of waiting staff, or a reduction of 10% off my meal, doesn’t make up for yet another disappointing dining experience. We’re here for two weeks, so let’s hope that someone somewhere listens and acts up guests observations! Hilton Hotel, you can, and should, do better than this.

My visit was on Dec 27th 2018The service was absolutely fantastic! From the hostess, to my waitress, it was all great, I have zero complaints! The food however, left more to be desired...a lot more!We ordered the Zanziburger and a platter. The burger looked good, albeit a bit small. However, it tasted like nothing, because the meat was unseasoned, that's a no from me. I was told though that they don't season their meat so this isn't a complaint if that's how things are usually done, just a point to note.I had several issues with the platter. Firstly, their menu has a rating system where they tell you if something is spicy, vegetarian, or a classic. The platter was not rated as a spicy so imagine my surprise when two our of the four items were indeed spicy and all of the dipping sauces were as well! This was truly frustrating because we don't eat pepper. To make matters worse, one of the non-spicy items, the ravioli was poorly done. It was so bad, this is the kind of thing you taste first in the kitchen and then throw in the garbage. It was extremely HARD (tough). The last item on the platter, was fine, not excellent or anything, just okay.I was far too tired at the time to send it back so we just packed it up and left. I went to use the washroom before I left and not only did it not have toilet paper but it was also dirty....I was just DONE with this place at that point. It's only after getting home about 2 hours later (i.e I drove that length of time to get home) and feeling hungry that I though about eating my leftover that I realized the error of my ways! The food was still too spicy so I couldn't eat it and now I regretted not sending it back for something else, because really what this amounts to was me literally throwing my money in the binThe service was great, yes, but you don't go to a restaurant to eat service...

Join us at Sails and enjoy one of the few waterfront restaurants in Trinidad. Grill and seafood specialties Live Entertainment on Weekends
Sails was forced to move from its marina location because of the earthquake in August 2018 and has moved to premises previously occupied by a restaurant called "The Lure". Indoor (air conditioned) and outdoor seating available but best book in advance for outdoor seating under the shade. The food was excellent and the portion sizes substantial and this makes a visit recommended. The staff seemed a little unfriendly at first and put us at a table by the door. Maybe it was because we are not regulars - however I am glad that we persevered.

It was our first time dining there for dinner. The staff was professional and friendly. Jenise was our waitress and she was very pleasant and accommodating. She ably answered our questions and successfully requested a gluten free meal for our daughter. We will definitely be returning with friends.
