What a beautiful place, in a beautiful setting, with beautiful delicious food!! A fabulous place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We found this lovely restaurant on Trip Adviser and it really surpassed our expectations. We were on a break, travelling around the North of England and I can honestly say this was the best meal we ate all week. The Fish Pie was to die for, and the service so friendly and welcoming. If you're ever in the area, please go, you won't be disappointed. Plus we so wish we'd booked to stay there. They kindly showed us their accommodation, which was fabulous. If we go back to Whitby, we know where we'll be staying, far superior to other local accommodation.

Lovely food but so slow to deliver ,had drunk our bottle of wine before we got the fourth course ! 3 hours altogether Dear farmeggs, Thank you for taking the time to review us. We would have loved to know what you thought about our food. We're sorry that the tasting menu took too long for you, we do explain when booking that we ask people to arrive between 7pm & 7:30pm and people usually leave 9:45pm - 10pm. We had a lovely meal here; very generous portions of fish & chips with a light, crispy batter with good quality fresh fish. One of our friends said it was as good as the Magpie in Whitby!

Dropped in without a reservation on a weekday afternoon but although packed found a table no problem. A traditional country pub right on the edge of the harbour, the food was excellent, lovely atmosphere and staff very friendly and so helpful.
