We were sent here by one of the locals. The folks here treat you like family. It's all home cooking made with local ingredients. This is the home of true Louisiana cooking. From Gumbo to Etouffeé to jambalaya it's the real deal.Nothing fancy but clean and friendly.

I was given a gift card to Spahr's for Christmas and forgot about it. While stopped at the red light in front of the restaurant I remembered about my gift card and since it was lunch time I decided to stop for lunch. After going over the menu for about ten minutes I decided to skip the seafood dishes. Four Lane Chicken is what I ordered. It's a fried chicken breast with bacon, melted cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato with honey mustard dressing on a bun and I had the onion sticks as my side item. It was all very delicious and I enjoyed every bite. My only complaint was that my waitress never offered to refill my drink or asked if I wanted a refill of my drink. I will definitely return here to try another dish. Thanks MMA1963. We appreciate the review. We apologize for the inattentiveness of the server.

My family and I have been dining here for years, and have never been disappointed. I like to start with dessert. Mommie Jo's freshly baked red velvet cake is wonderful; displayed in am old-fashioned cake stand on the front counter. After that, I like their onion mum as an entree or the seafood gumbo. It's the next best thing to homecooking.
Food quality is awful and tremendously expensive. Rude servers and check out service is the worse! We NEVER LEAVE A TIP! Timing sucks! Food is flash frozen and cooks are very unpleasant to look at. When we receive our food the plates are SLAMMED on the table and food flies everywhere. I dread getting a gift certificate because we NEVER use it!

Stopped in for lunch on a rainy South Louisiana afternoon. Interior is simple but comfortable enough. Service staff were pleasant, but not rushed - so if you're in a hurry you may want to try a different type of establishment. Gumbo was pretty close to what I remember my grandmother would make (that's a good thing). Shrimp po-boy was typical of the region, medium shrimp, dressed, and on a better than average bun. Prices are fair.I could be convinced to return on my next trip to the area.
