Greasy, soggy, bland mushy haddock with the added extras of... bones and a pool of grease in the sweaty polestyrene box! Very miserable and rude owner. Also refused to fry in flour rather than batter... not a problem however the way he snapped at us about it was inexcusable. Manners cost nothing.

The Fish Bar...from boat to table! For us, eating is a social event. We offer a venue to relax, have a drink, maybe a nibble on our fish orientated tapas.... somewhere to pass time and enjoy good company. Share food and conversation. We've taken the fish
We ate here during our stay in Newquay in September and although I was initially going to give it a 4 star as the food was good not great the service was great so thought 4.5 overall. The food was good but not great as I say, some of the dishes were a bit bland so should of probably ordered more dips. Really want the owners and chef to do well as we were made to feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. A few tweaks and this could be a great place. Found the high stools weren't the most comfortable for myself but that's just me. Fish was all very fresh and well cooked.Thank you so much for your feedback We do try to keep some very simple dishes on the menu (such as our Pescaiti Frito, Scampi, Calamari and Trio of Fish Goujons) for those people who prefer to taste the fish rather than an overpowering sauce - we believe that fish this fresh speaks beautifully for itself. These dishes are great favourites with a lot of our customers, many of whom actually like them without dips at all, but I do myself agree that most of these benefit from a good dip which we make sure we offer a wide range of I hope that you also managed to try some of our more flavoursome dishes as well - there are so many to choose from! We absolutely appreciate your comment about the stools too and hope that one day we may be able to expand and incorporate lower tables with chairs - weâre just rather restricted at the moment with the small space that we have. We hope that youâll join us again soon

Decided to eat here on a whim when out in Newquay. The staff quickly accommodated us to a table with a view of the kitchen. What a fantastic restaurant this is. We decided to go for the seafood platter, once again another great choice. The crab claws were tasty and the moules mariniere were excellent. I wanted to drink the sauce it was so rich and creamy. I loved everything about this restaurant, the ambience, the friendly staff. We asked for a taxi to be called at the end of our meal and was advised of the 25 minute wait so the owner invited us for a drink in the bar area which was on him. The next time I am in Newquay I will come back.

Tucked away in a private, secluded cove with breath-taking views & food to match, Lusty Glaze Beach Bar & Restaurant is the epitome of relaxed and cosy dining. Recently crowned Britainâs Best Beach by The Sunday Times, this oasis on the North Cornish Coas
Food was very disappointing fish overcooked , not enough roast potatoes, and they were tiny veg raw, duck not cooked enough , chewy. Staff lovely, but will not go back.

A very welcoming place on a very rainy day. Despite the rain we sat outside undercover as it was warm enough & the view across the harbour is lovely. There was a very friendly welcome from the lovely lady behind the bar who attended to us promptly. We ordered a prawn Marie rose & a fish goujon sandwich. The bread was delicious with plenty of filling & each came with a portion of gorgeous home cooked fries & fresh spring salad. Two cups of excellent coffee to accompany it & we were very happy customers. The Boathouse is very dog friendly & the lovely lady gave our girl a big handful of biscuits too.Faultless, highly recommend & will definitely be returning.

We had tasty fish and chips on two occasions whilst in Newquay and they were delicious although we should have asked if the fish could be stood to drain after being cooked as it was a little greasy as was my daughter's vegetarian option. It was all freshly cooked and there was a queue so they were working hard to keep up with the demand. We will try them again on our next visit.

we arrived approx. 6pm and restaurant was very busy. was slightly disappointed that they had no haddock left. wanted to try the Huge Harry.they had cod and was available in Colassal Colin size or normal. service was very good. would love to try again but this time with the haddock. decent value for money.Little bit confused by this - was it a different restaurant you visited? We are the Harbour Fish and Grill in Newquay, situated on the Harbour. We don't serve Huge Harrys or Colossal Colins but we do offer a lovely selection of fresh fish, seafood, meat and vegetarian options!

A small seafood restaurant, with fantastic views of fistral beach, serving the freshest fish and shellfish, crab and lobster directly from Newquay harbour, with a very reasonably priced menu.
Whilst visiting friends in the area they booked us to The Fish House (they have visited previously) on Thursday 31st and overall we had a most enjoyable evening. To start we had the Grilled Scallops (3) with ginger, garlic, black beans soy and sesame oil £8.95 (excellent) and the Seafood Sharing Board (crab cakes...lovely, two salt and pepper shell on prawns, piquillo peppers stuffed with salt cod...very good, light battered squid with aioli ..disappointed....fresh focaccia...lovely texture but could have done with a little more flavour of garlic and herb) £17.95. For mains my wife had the Whole Plaice £23.00 to which she said was excellent as was our other mains ..Chickpea Stew with grilled hake £18.95 (hake cooked to perfection and lovely flavours in the stew)...Roasted Hake £18.95. To accompany our meal we had a bottle of Verdejo £18.50 and a 250ml glass of Tempranillo £6.50. The service overall was attentive, helpful and friendly especially Tia. There is no service charge. We would certainly visit again when in the area.
