Akron has always had good pizza shops and a couple wonderful "greasy spoon" type restaurants but finally, with Bistro 93, there is a great, casual, sit-down restaurant with affordable 5 star food. The chef and staff are very experienced and know what they are doing. The outdoor patio in the summer is a nice addition too. From the appetizers to the salads to the burgers to the fresh fish and entrees you will be well pleased.

We had a birthday dinner tonight for some of our family. I'd say a couple of the meals came out ok. Soup from what I heard was good. But the entrees left much to be desired. We heard it was all home cooked. My husband ordered chicken cordon bleu. What he received were a couple of glorified chicken patties with ham and layered cheese on top. The chicken was so salty he couldn't eat it. His baked potato was good. I ordered penne with parm on top. The penne were rubbery, the sauce was more water than actual sauce and the cheese was coagulated. Another family member ordered a burger. The meat was a heated up previously frozen patty, and the roll was so hard he could bang on it with his knife. And speaking of rolls, the rolls served with our meals were cold. I can't see how anything we received was homemade. The waitress never came to ask how everything was. We choked down what we could in the mean time. When one of our party complained of their food not tasting well, he was reprimanded by the waitress for not telling him sooner. He told her when she came to box up our leftovers, which was the first time we'd seen her since our food was delivered. There was never an apology issued for the poor food quality. I was shocked at her response. She'd seemed pleasant up until then.We drove 45 min to get there for dinner. Not a place we will visit again.

Dinner was excellent. Had the pot roast special. It was delicious. Tender very flavorful meat, perfect mashed potatoes, carrots and their salad bar was very good too. Lots of choices to add to your lettuce. Macaroni salad, Cole slaw and warm bread too! Great friendly service too. Will go back soon!!

Ordered dinners for takeout:Broiled fish, beer battered fish and fried shrimp. Hands down, it was the BEST broiled fish Iâve ever had, great flavor! The shrimp was really good too. All meals were accompanied by the usual suspects - potato salad, coleslaw & tuna Mac salad. The Mac salad was really tasty. Iâm anxious to go back and try more items.
