Our Water Taxi Driver tried to tell us about La Promesa, but we insisted he drop us at the Marina and we went into the Panama Sport Lodge - they would not feed us because we were not there on a fishing trip (all inclusive package). The lady directed us to La Promesa a 5 minute walk from the dock - while I was skeptical about the walk/directions as it was already darkening -it was the best thing that happened to us - Probably the best meal we had in Panama. There are only 4 picnic table all outdoors - menu on blackboard - clean place, clean bathroom! no bugs! 4 of us ordered shrimp, snapper, beers, and had a wonderful time for a decent price - I highly recommend this little gem! The owner/cook and one helper took care of us -limited English but helped us get our return water Taxi at a specific time - Water taxi from Bocas Del Mar hotel was only $ 3/pp each way. TAKE A FLASHLIGHT!

We went with a group of four, including my wife who is Peruvian (so I feel her opinion carries a little more weight). With reviews, we always give the benefit of the doubt as we understand how important these reviews are to the success of a restaurant. But we were very disappointed with the quality, quantity, and service speed of the main dishes. The Cusco-born owner, his daughter, and the waiters were all nice and friendly. But the food was below average, for all in the group. We ordered Lomo Saltado, which is the standard Peruvian dish, and if a restaurant cannot get this right, it won't be able to get the rest of its dishes right. The lomo (beef) was very tough and chewy. The fries that they used were not home-cut but the frozen fries that you buy at the supermarket. And the taste was off. The portion was probably the smallest Lomo Saltado I've ever had in my life (and I've had this dish dozens upon dozens of times). The others in the group had corvina (sea bass), and they commented that it was not as good as that of the Fish House (sorry, not trying to compare, but that's where we ate the day before, and the dish was essentially the same).Lastly, it had taken at least 45 minutes for our main dishes to come out, and there was nobody else in the restaurant who had come in before us and who did not yet have food. We noticed that there was a family of 4-5 outside in the balcony who had arrived after us, and they were served their food before us. The only explanation that we have for them receiving food beforehand was that we had ordered soup and possibly they preferred to serve locals quicker as they could be repeat customers. StOverall, a disappointing experience for the price we paid ($70 for four people), and there are frankly many better options in Boquete. While the restaurant is spacious and the chupe de camerones soup was actually good, this restaurant has a long ways to go in terms of its main course food quality and professionalism/fairness in its service.

We don't know what the names are but both of our meals were wonderful. My wife had steak (cooked perfectly) topped with shellfish with a marinade. I had a steak (also perfectly cooked) with shrimp and longostinas in a delicious gravy sauce. We topped this off with pisco sours. Perfect dinner for my wife's birthday.

As a corner of Italy in Boquete, is how we want to conceive this new Restaurant, Pizzeria, Bakery, Pastry and Coffee Shop with the best coffee preparation in the area and the best Italian flavors. A wide selection that can meet all the requirements in the
Not having visited this little cafe in quite a while, I was absolutely astonished with everything, from their menu, food, service, ambiance. On my visit earlier this week, I tried a Milano Italia regular pizza and was blown away. Thin crusted, homemade red sauce, plenty of mozzarella, Brie, sautéed mushrooms and imported smoked ham off the leg, the real deal! It was the Best Pizza I'd had in a long, long time. Yesterday, we tried their luncheon pasta dish-linguine w/ a spicy red sauce and copious amounts of smoked bacon. $6.50. About a dozen sauce choices, a half dozen pasta selections. Thought Iâd died and gone to heaven. My partner couldnât find a single negative! Nor could I. We've just found our new Number One Boquete Restaurant. Kudos!! We'll be back soon.

My wife and I did not stay at the resort but stopped there for lunch. Very good menu an prices reasonable. Multilingual staff. As they seem to cater for mostly Americans the food portions were, for us, way oversized. Well cooked and presented. I ordered a beer which was fine but as Europeans would have liked a glass rather then drink it from the bottle! Nice location overlooking the beach. Thank you for letting us know you had such a good lunch here, while overlooking the ocean!Panamanians like to drink their beer ice cold and straight from the bottle. But if you ask for a glass the staff will be more than willing to serve your beer in a glass.Saludos from the whole team!

We went here for supper on a weeknight. The food was good and big portions... We had shrimp tacos and wings. This is a pretty cool place to hang out. Of the two options of "business in the front" or "party in the back", definately go with the back area which is a nice outdoor dining area. Seems like a popular tourist hangout and spot to have a drink. Lots to choose from on the menu. Enjoy!

We were a group of 7 and ordered a variety of entrees. All the guests thoroughly enjoyed their meals which were delicious and served with a number of garnishes. The wait staff was courteous and accommodating and the environment was lovely - casual with a view of the river.

A gorgeous waterside setting for lunch or dinner. Choose from our range of mouth-watering international and tropical dishes.
We go to Panama every year in January and always like to have dinner at Bocas Del Mar. I had the bbq chicken and my husband had the pork medallions. The food was prepared perfectly and was very tasty. The service has always been excellent but this year it was exceptional. They obviously care about their guests and patrons. Two from the waiters even remembered us from last year. Highly recommend. We appreciate your 5 star review of your meal. It was a pleasure to welcome you again. Thank you!Kind regards,The Bocas del Mar team
